6th Grade March Madness of BooksMarch Madness is a very exciting time of the year for many people. We used thisexcitement to bolster 6th graders’ interest in reading. We made a bracket of the mostpopular books being read in the 6th grade. Each day we sent out a survey to all 6thgraders in which two books would battle to advance to the next round of our MarchMadness tournament. The most popular books advanced to the Elite Eight, Final Four, and finally the Championship. In the end, Diary of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney won the6th grade March Madness of Books tournament. Our hope is that this helped 6th graders become aware of different genres of books andmaybe spark an interest in reading them. You can see the finished brackets on the wallof the IMC in the near future. This project was primarily worked on by Autumn Datema and Landon Delfosse with thehelp of several other 6th graders.
