    Army Physical Readiness Test (APRT)

    The intent of the Army Physical Readiness Test (APRT) is to provide an assessment of the PRT program. Physical

    readiness testing is designed to ensure the maintenance of a base level of physical readiness essential for every

    Soldier, regardless of Army MOS or duty assignment. PRT programs must be developed to take this base level of

    conditioning and raise it to help meet or exceed mission-related physical performance tasks. Commanders should

    ensure physical readiness testing does not form the foundation of unit or individual PRT programs. Refer to AR 350-

    1,Army Training and Development, for policy guidelines pertaining to the APRT.

    APRT OVERVIEW

    A-1. The APRT is a physical performance test that provides a measure of strength, endurance and mobility. It

    indicates a Soldiers ability to perform physically and handle his own body weight. APRT standards are adjusted for

    Soldiers ages and physiological differences.

    EVENT SEQUENCE

    A-2. The APRT consists of the 60-yard progressive shuttle run, rower, standing long jump, push-ups and 1.5-mile

    rundone in that orderon the same day. All five events should be completed within four hours. The test period is

    defined as the period of time that elapses from the start to the finish of the five events (from the first 60-yard

    progressive shuttle run to the last Soldier crossing the finish line of the 1.5-mile run event).

    A-3. TBD.

    A-4. APRT results will be recorded on DA Form 705 (form reference located at the end of this appendix). One

    scorecard will be maintained for each Soldier. The scorecard will be kept in a central location in the unit and will

    accompany the individual military personnel records file at the time of permanent change of station IAW AR 350-1.

    Units and separate offices monitor the performance and progress of their Soldiers. Individual Soldiers are not

    authorized to administer the APRT to themselves to simply satisfy record test requirements. A minimum of FOUR

    (4) Soldiers are required to administer an APRT: OIC or NCOIC, an event supervisor (the OIC/NCOIC mayact as an event supervisor), an event scorer (grades, records raw scores and times the shuttle run for his lane),

    a timer and back-up timer for the rower, push-up and 1.5-mile run, as well as, support personnel.

    A-5. Any piece of clothing not prescribed as a component of the IPFU, ACU or commander authorized civilian

    attire is not permitted for wear during the APRT. Neither are devices or equipment that offers any potential for

    unfair advantage during testing. Unless prescribed as part of the Soldiers medical profile, the wearing of the

    following items are not authorized: nasal strips, weight lifting gloves, elastic bandages, or braces of any kind.

    Electronic devices are also not authorized (IPODs or cell phones). AR 670-1, Wear and Appearance of Army

    Uniforms and Insignia, specifies the components of the IPFU ensemble.

    APRT ADMINISTRATION

    SUPERVISION

    A-6. The success of any physical readiness testing program depends on obtaining valid and accurate test results;

    therefore, the APRT must be administered properly to accurately evaluate individual Soldier and unit physical

    readiness. Supervision of the APRT is necessary to ensure the objectives of the PRT are met. Proper supervisionprovides for standardization of the following:

    Test preparation. Control of performance factors. Training of test personnel. Test scoring.

    PLANNING

    A-7. Planning for the APRT should be directed at securing the most accurate evaluation of Soldiers participating in

    the test. Preparatory requirements include the following:

    Selecting and training of an event supervisor, event scorers, timers, demonstrators, and support personnel. Conducting equipment inventory. Securing the test site.

    A-8. The commander should ensure that testing is consistent with regard to events, scoring, clothing, equipment and

    facilities. Testing should be planned to permit each Soldier to perform at his maximal level and should ensure the

    following:

    Soldiers are not tested when fatigued or ill. Soldiers do not participate in tiring duties before taking an APRT. Weather and environmental conditions do not inhibit physical performance. Risk analysis is conducted.

    DUTIES OF TEST PERSONNEL

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    A-9. The APRT personnel must be familiar with all aspects of administration of the test. Supervision of Soldiers and

    laying out the test area are essential duties. The following test personnel are recommended to conduct an APRT: an

    OIC and/or NCOIC, an event supervisor(s), a timer, a back-up timer, an event scorer(s), a demonstrator(s) and

    support personnel. The minimum number of personnel required to administer the APRT is four (4): an

    OIC/NCOIC, an event supervisor (OIC/NCOIC may act as event supervisor), an event scorer, timer and

    back-up timer, as well as support personnel.

    A-10. The OIC/NCOIC is responsible for the administration of the APRT. Responsibilities include:

    Conduct the preparation drill and military movement drill 1 after reading event instructions. Administration of the test. Conduct the recovery drill upon completion of the test. Procurement of all necessary equipment and supplies. Arrangement and layout of test area. Training of event supervisors, scorers, timer(s), back-up timer, demonstrator(s) and support personnel. Ensure tests are properly administered and that events are explained, demonstrated and scored according to

    standard.

    When test personnel required to administer the APRT are limited, the OIC/NCOIC may perform the dutiesof an event supervisor.

    Validate and report test results.

    A-11. The event supervisors are responsible for administration of test events. Responsibilities include the following:

    Administers one or more test events. Ensures necessary equipment is on hand for each event(s). Reading of APRT event instructions. Conducts APRT event demonstration. Supervises event scoring to standard. Answers questions on scoring discrepancies and informs the OIC/NCOIC.

    A-12. The event scorers are responsible for scoring events to standard. Responsibilities include the following:

    Enforces test standards. Records the correct number of repetitions in the raw score block on DA Form 705. Records initials in initials box on DA Form 705. Performs other duties assigned by the OIC/NCOIC and/or event supervisor. Receives training conducted by the OIC/NCOIC and/or event supervisor to ensure scoring is to standard.

    A-13. The demonstrators are responsible for demonstrating the 60-yard progressive shuttle run, rower, standing long

    jump and push-up events to standard. Responsibilities include the following:

    Assists the event supervisor by demonstrating the 60-yard progressive shuttle run, rower, standing longjump and push-up to standard during the reading of event instructions.

    Performs other duties assigned by the OIC/NCOIC. Receives training, conducted by the OIC/NCOIC, to properly demonstrate the 60-yard progressive shuttle

    run, rower, standing long jump and push-up.

    A-14. Timers are responsible for properly timing the 60-yard progressive shuttle run, rower, push-up, and 1.5-mile

    run events. Back up timers are used for the rower, push-up and 1.5-mile run events.

    A-15. Support personnel assist in preventing unsafe acts to ensure smooth execution of the APRT. The use of

    support personnel depend on local policy and unit standard operating procedures. Medical support on site is not

    required unless specified by local policy. The OIC/NCOIC should have a plan for medical support (if required).

    TEST SITE

    REQUIREMENTS

    A-16. The OIC/NCOIC should select a test site that has the following:

    Site that is free of any significant hazards. Briefing area for the reading of event instructions. Preparation area (can be same as briefing area). Soft, flat, dry area for push-ups and rower. Flat, dry hard surface area to conduct the standing long-jump. Flat, dry, and measured surface of 8 feet wide and 25 yards long, with a marked start/finish line and line

    markers at 5, 10 and 15 yards to conduct the 60-yard progressive shuttle run (refer to paragraph A-35).

    Flat, measured 1.5-mile running course with a solid surface that is not more than three percent (3%) grade.A-17. Sound judgment must be used in the selection of a 1.5-mile run course. There is no requirement to survey 1.5-

    mile run course; however, the selected test site should be free of significant hazards such as traffic, slippery road

    surfaces and areas where heavy pollution is present. Running tracks may be used to administer the 1.5-mile run

    event. The OIC/NCOIC must measure the running route/track distance from start to finish, using a calibrated

    engineer wheel to ensure accuracy in scoring the event.

    TEST PROCEDURES

    A-18. The APRT event sequence is the 60-yard progressive shuttle run, rower, standing long jump, push-up and 1.5-

    mile run. The order of events cannot be changed. There are no exceptions to this sequence. The following

    paragraphs describe procedures for APRT administration. On test day, the OIC/NCOIC briefs Soldiers on the

    purpose and administration of the test. The OIC/NCOIC explains test administration including the scorecard, scoring

    standards and test sequence. In addition, the wearing of unauthorized items such as nasal strips, braces, elasticbandages, weightlifting gloves, electronic devices (IPODs or cell phones) are addressed. Test instructions for the

    60-yard progressive shuttle run, rower, standing long jump, push-up and 1.5-mile run are read prior to

    conducting the preparation drill and military movement drill 1. From the beginning of the 60-yard

    progressive shuttle run to the completion of the 1.5-mile run, the total time elapsed should not exceed four

    hours.Upon completion of all events, the recovery drill will be conducted.

    A-19. The following instructions are READ ALOUD to all Soldiers taking the APRT.

    YOU ARE ABOUT TO TAKE THE ARMY PHYSICAL READINESS TEST. A TEST

    THAT WILL MEASURE YOUR STRENGTH, ENDURANCE AND MOBILITY. THE

    RESULTS OF THIS TEST WILL GIVE YOU AND YOUR COMMANDER AN

    INDICATION OF YOUR STATE OF PHYSICAL READINESS AND WILL ACT AS A

    GUIDE IN DETERMINING YOUR PHYSICAL READINESS TRAINING NEEDS.

    LISTEN CLOSELY TO THE TEST INSTRUCTIONS AND DO THE BEST YOU CAN

    ON EACH OF THE EVENTS.

    A-20. If DA Form 705 has not been issued, scorecards will be handed out at this time. The OIC/NCOIC will then

    instruct the Soldiers to fill in the appropriate spaces with the required personal data. The following instructions are

    READ ALOUD to all Soldiers taking the APRT:

    IN THE APPROPRIATE SPACES, PRINT IN INK THE PERSONAL INFORMATION

    REQUIRED ON THE SCORECARD.

    Note: The preceding remark is omitted if scorecards were issued prior to arrival at the test site.

    A-21. Soldiers are then given time to complete the required information and turn in their completed form to the

    event supervisor, who ensures that scorers have the scorecard for each Soldier to be graded.

    EVENT INSTRUCTIONS

    A-22. The OIC, the NCOIC, or the event supervisor will READ ALOUD all five event instructions prior to

    the start of the test. Specific 1.5-mile run route instructions can be addressed at the 1.5-mile run event site.

    60-YARD PROGRESSIVE SHUTTLE RUN

    A-23. The OIC/NCOIC or the event supervisor must READ ALOUD the following before the 60-yard progressive

    shuttle run event:

    THE 60-YARD PROGRESSIVE SHUTTLE RUN MEASURES ANAEROBIC POWER

    AND MOBILITY. THIS EVENT CONSISTS OF THREE SPRINT INTERVALS OF 5, 10,

    AND 15 YARDS. ON THE COMMAND GET SET, ASSUME A STAGGERED

    STANCE, ENSURING THAT YOUR FEET DO NOT CROSS THE STARTING LINE.

    ON THE COMMAND GO THE SCORER/TIMER STARTS THE CLOCK. RUN TO

    THE 5-YARD LINE, PICK UP THE WOODEN BLOCK WITH EITHER HAND AND

    RETURN TO THE STARTING LINE. PLACE THE BLOCK ON THE GROUND

    BEHIND THE STARTING LINE, ENSURING THAT THE BLOCK IS ON THE

    GROUND BEFORE YOU REMOVE YOUR HAND. IF YOU FAIL TO PLACE THE

    BLOCK CORRECTLY, YOUR SCORER WILL TELL YOU TO CHECK YOUR

    BLOCK. UPON HEARING THIS COMMAND, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY PLACE

    THE BLOCK CORRECTLY BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE EVENT. THIS

    ACTION IS REPEATED AT THE 10-YARD LINE. AFTER PICKING UP THE BLOCK

    AT THE 15-YARD LINE, TURN AROUND AND SPRINT PAST THE STARTING LINE.

    YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PLACE THE BLOCK ON THE GROUND DURING

    THE END OF THE 15-YARD INTERVAL. AT THE END OF THE EVENT, YOU WILL

    HAVE RUN A TOTAL OF 60 YARDS. THE SCORER/TIMER WILL STOP THE

    CLOCK WHEN THE YOUR ENTIRE BODY CROSSES THE STARTING LINE.

    WATCH THIS DEMONSTRATION.

    A-24. In conclusion, the OIC/NCOIC or the event supervisor asks:

    ROWER

    A-25. The OIC/NCOIC or the event supervisor must READ ALOUD the following before the rower event:

    THE ROWER MEASURES THE MUSCULAR ENDURANCE OF THE TRUNK

    MUSCLES AND TOTAL-BODY COORDINATION. ON THE COMMAND GET SET,

    ASSUME THE SUPINE POSITION, ARMS OVERHEAD, FEET TOGETHER AND

    POINTING UPWARD. THE CHIN IS TUCKED AND THE HEAD IS 1-2 INCHES

    ABOVE THE GROUND. HANDS ARE ON THE GROUND AT SHOULDER-WIDTH,

    PALMS FACING INWARD WITH FINGERS AND THUMBS EXTENDED AND

    JOINED. ON THE COMMAND GO, WHILE KEEPING THE FEET TOGETHER AND

    SWINGING THE ARMS FORWARD, SIT UP BENDING AT THE HIP AND KNEES.

    AT THE END OF THE MOTION, THE ARMS MUST REACH FORWARD AND BE AT

    LEAST PARALLEL TO THE GROUND, WITH PALMS FACING INWARD. THE

    FEET MUST BE TOGETHER AND PLACED FLAT ON THE GROUND. THE

    REPETITION IS COMPLETE WHEN THE UPPER BODY IS LOWERED SO THAT

    THE UPPER BACK/SHOULDER BLADES TOUCH THE GROUND. THE HANDS AND

    ARMS NEED NOT TOUCH THE GROUND. THE LEGS ARE EXTENDED AND THE

    HEELS ARE ON THE GROUND WITH THE FEET TOGETHER. AT THE END OF

    EACH REPETITION, THE SCORER WILL STATE THE NUMBER OF REPETITIONS

    CORRECTLY PERFORMED. A REPETITION WILL NOT COUNT IF YOU FAIL TO

    REACH THE UP POSITION WITH YOUR ARMS PARALLEL TO THE GROUND,

    RAISE YOUR BUTTOCKS, YOUR FEET SEPARATE OR RAISE OFF THE GROUND

    (AS IN KICKING TO CREATE MOMENTUM TO COME TO THE UP POSITION).

    THE SCORER WILL REPEAT THE NUMBER OF YOUR LAST CORRECTLY

    PERFORMED REPETITION. THE TEST WILL CONTINUE AND ANY

    INCORRECTLY PERFORMED REPETITIONS WILL NOT BE COUNTED. IF YOU

    FAIL TO PERFORM THE ROWER CORRECTLY, AS DETERMINED BY THE

    SCORER, YOU MUST CORRECT THE DEFICIENCY. THE TEST WILL CONTINUE,

    AND ANY INCORRECTLY PERFORMED REPETITIONS WILL NOT BE

    COUNTED.

    THERE IS NO AUTHORIZED REST POSITION IN WHICH YOU MAY PAUSE

    DURING THE TEST. YOUR PACE OF PERFORMANCE MAY VARY, HOWEVER, IF

    YOU PAUSE IN THE UP OR DOWN POSITION FOR MORE THAN 2 SECONDS

    (COUNTED: ONE-ONE THOUSAND, TWO-ONE THOUSAND, STOP) YOUR

    PERFORMANCE WILL BE TERMINATED.

    IF YOU FAIL TO CONTINUE PERFORMING REPETITIONS, THE EVENT WILL

    BE TERMINATED. YOU MAY NOT USE YOUR HANDS OR ANY OTHER MEANS TO

    PULL OR PUSH YOURSELF TO THE UP POSITION. IF YOU DO SO, YOUR

    THE STANDING LONG JUMP MEASURES LOWER-BODY MUSCULAR

    STRENGTH, POWER, BALANCE AND COORDINATION. ON THE COMMAND

    GET SET, ASSUME A STRADDLE STANCE WITH FEET PARALLEL AND BEHIND

    THE STARTING LINE. ON THE COMMAND GO, JUMP FORWARD AS FAR AS

    POSSIBLE. THE SCORER WILL MARK THE SPOT ON THE GROUND OF THE

    HEEL OR ANY OTHER BODY PART (I.E. HAND, ELBOW, BUTTOCKS) CLOSEST

    TO THE STARTING LINE. YOU WILL PERFORM TWO JUMPS AND YOUR

    FURTHEST JUMP WILL BE RECORDED ON YOUR SCORECARD. IF YOU FAIL TO

    PROPERLY EXECUTE THE JUMP AS PRESCRIBED, THE JUMP WILL NOT BE

    RECORDED AND WILL COUNT AGAINST YOU AS ONE OF YOUR TWO

    ATTEMPTS. WATCH THIS DEMONSTRATION.

    A-28. In conclusion, the OIC/NCOIC or the event supervisor asks:

    WHAT ARE YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS EVENT?

    PUSH-UP

    A-29. The OIC/NCOIC or the event supervisor must READ ALOUD the following before beginning the push-up

    event:

    THE PUSH-UP EVENT MEASURES THE MUSCULAR ENDURANCE OF THE

    TRUNK, CHEST, SHOULDER AND TRICEPS MUSCLES. ON THE COMMAND GET

    SET, ASSUME THE FRONT-LEANING REST POSITION BY PLACING YOUR

    HANDS SHOULDER WIDTH. INDEX FINGERS ARE ALIGNED WITH THE

    OUTSIDE OF THE SHOULDERS. YOUR FEET MAY BE TOGETHER OR UP TO 12

    INCHES APART (MEASURED BETWEEN THE FEET). WHEN VIEWED FROM THE

    BY BENDING YOUR ELBOWS AND LOWERING YOUR ENTIRE BODY AS A

    SINGLE UNIT UNTIL YOUR UPPER ARMS ARE AT LEAST PARALLEL TO THE

    GROUND. THEN, RETURN TO THE STARTING POSITION BY RAISING YOUR

    ENTIRE BODY UNTIL YOUR ARMS ARE FULLY EXTENDED. YOUR BODY MUST

    REMAIN RIGID AND IN A GENERALLY STRAIGHT LINE AND MOVE AS A UNIT

    WHILE PERFORMING EACH REPETITION. AT THE END OF EACH REPETITION,

    THE SCORER WILL STATE THE NUMBER OF REPETITIONS YOU HAVE

    CORRECTLY PERFORMED.

    IF YOU FAIL TO KEEP YOUR BODY GENERALLY STRAIGHT, LOWER YOUR

    WHOLE BODY UNTIL YOUR UPPER ARMS ARE AT LEAST PARALLEL TO THE

    GROUND OR EXTEND YOUR ARMS COMPLETELY, THAT REPETITION WILL

    NOT COUNT AND THE SCORER WILL REPEAT THE NUMBER OF THE LAST

    CORRECTLY PERFORMED REPETITION. IF YOU FAIL TO PERFORM THE PUSH-

    UP CORRECTLY, AS DETERMINED BY THE SCORER, YOU MUST CORRECT THE

    DEFICIENCY. THE TEST WILL CONTINUE, AND ANY INCORRECTLY

    PERFORMED REPETITIONS WILL NOT BE COUNTED.

    THERE IS NO AUTHORIZED REST POSITION IN WHICH YOU MAY PAUSE

    DURING THE TEST. YOUR PACE OF PERFORMANCE MAY VARY, BUT YOU

    MUST KEEP THE BODY GENERALLY STRAIGHT. IF YOU PAUSE IN THE UP OR

    DOWN POSITION, FOR MORE THAN 2 SECONDS (COUNTED: ONE-ONE

    THOUSAND, TWO-ONE THOUSAND, STOP) YOUR PERFORMANCE WILL BE

    THE LEG MUSCLES. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE RUN WITHOUT ANY

    PHYSICAL HELP. ON THE COMMAND GET SET, ALL SOLDIERS WILL LINE UP

    BEHIND THE STARTING LINE. ON THE COMMAND GO, THE TIMER STARTS

    THE CLOCK. YOU WILL BEGIN RUNNING AT YOUR OWN PACE. YOU MUST

    COMPLETE THE REQUIRED 1.5-MILE DISTANCE (DESCRIBE THE NUMBER OF

    LAPS, START/FINISH POINTS AND COURSE LAYOUT). YOU ARE BEING TESTED

    ON YOUR ABILITY TO COMPLETE THE 1.5-MILE DISTANCE IN THE SHORTEST

    TIME POSSIBLE. ALTHOUGH WALKING IS AUTHORIZED, IT IS STRONGLY

    DISCOURAGED. IF YOU ARE PHYSICALLY HELPED IN ANY WAY (I.E. PULLED,

    PUSHED, PICKED UP AND/OR CARRIED) OR LEAVE THE DESIGNATED

    RUNNING COURSE FOR ANY REASON, THE EVENT WILL BE TERMINATED. IT

    IS LEGAL TO PACE A SOLDIER DURING THE 1.5-MILE RUN AS LONG AS THERE

    IS NO PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH THE PACED SOLDIER AND IT DOES NOT

    PHYSICALLY HINDER OTHER SOLDIERS TAKING THE TEST. THE PRACTICE

    OF RUNNING AHEAD OF, ALONG SIDE OR BEHIND THE TESTED SOLDIER

    WHILE SERVING AS A PACER IS PERMITTED. CHEERING OR CALLING OUT

    THE ELAPSED TIME IS ALSO PERMITTED. THE NUMBER ON YOUR CHEST IS

    FOR IDENTIFICATION. YOU MUST MAKE SURE IT IS VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES.

    APRT FACILITIES

    A-34. The following facilities are recommended for administration of the APRT:

    An indoor or covered facility is preferable for the briefing area and conduct of the first four events (60-yardprogressive shuttle run, rower, standing long jump and push-up). If this is not possible, the OIC/NCOIC

    must ensure that the test area is flat, dry and free of hazards for safety and accuracy in scoring these events. Designated area that is flat, dry and free of hazards for the conduct of the preparation drill, military

    movement drill 1 and the recovery drill.

    One test lane (8 feet wide by 25 yards long) for every ten Soldiers participating in the 60-yard progressiveshuttle run, rower, standing long jump and push-up. APRT lanes should be spaced at least 8 feet apart.

    APRT PERSONNEL

    A-35. The following personnel are recommended for administration of the APRT:

    OIC/NCOIC. Event supervisor. One event scorer for every 10 Soldiers being tested. Timer and back-up timer. Required support personnel (road guards, medical emergency services and first aid).

    TIMER AND BACK-UP TIMER RESPONSIBILITIES

    A-36. The timer begins each event with the command, GET SET. On the command, GO, time starts. The timer

    indicates time remaining at thirty seconds for the rower and push-up events with the command, THIRTY

    SECONDS REMAINING, FIFTEEN SECONDS REMAINING and counts down the remaining ten seconds

    with the command, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, STOP. As Soldiers near the finish line during the 60-yard

    progressive shuttle run and 1.5-mile run, the timer calls out the time. Time is recorded to the nearest hundredth

    of seconds in the shuttle run. Time is recorded for the 1.5-mile run is in minutes and seconds (for example: NINE-

    FIFTY-EIGHT, NINE FIFTY-NINE, TEN MINUTES, TEN-O-ONE).

    EVENT SCORER RESPONSIBILTIES

    A-37. 60-yard Progressive Shuttle Run. During the 60-yard progressive shuttle run the scorer stands at the starting

    line, just outside of the testing lane. Event scorers will monitor the event for correct performance (correct block

    placement and running distance sequence) as well as time, call out times and record the raw scores in hundredths of

    seconds (i.e. FOURTEEN POINT SEVEN EIGHT or 14.78) for Soldiers in their lanes.

    A-38. Rower. During the rower event, the scorer kneels or sits at 45 degrees and three feet from the Soldiers left or

    right hip, near the feet (refer to the illustrations below). The scorer counts the correct number of repetitions out loud,

    repeats the last number of the correct repetitions when incorrect repetitions are performed and verbally corrects

    rower performance. If a mat is used, the Soldiers entire body must remain on the mat throughout the duration

    of the event.

    A-39. Standing Long Jump. During the standing long jump the scorer stands at the starting line, just outside of the

    testing lane. The scorer will monitor the event for correct performance (foot fouls and landing) as well as marking

    the landing spot and measuring jump distances for each Soldier. A second Soldier will assist the scorer by holding

    the measuring tape at the starting line to measure the jump distance.

    A-40. Push-up. During the push-up event, the scorer kneels or sits three feet from the Soldiers left or right shoulder

    at a 45-degree angle (refer to the illustrations below). The scorers head should be slightly higher or even with the

    Soldiers shoulder when he is in the front-leaning rest position. The scorer counts the correct number of repetitions

    out loud, repeats the last number of the correct repetitions when incorrect repetitions are performed and verbally

    corrects push-up performance.

    A-41. 1.5-mile Run. During the 1.5-mile run event, the timer and back-up timer are at the starting line and will be

    also at the finish line calling out loud the elapsed time of the run in minutes and seconds as Soldiers cross the finish

    line. Scorers will listen for the time for each runner they are grading and record the time on the DA Form 705 in the

    appropriate block.

    A-42. When Soldiers complete their APRT events, the scorer records the 60-yard progressive shuttle run time,

    records the correct number of completed rowers and push-ups, records distance on the standing long jump, records

    the 1.5-mile run time, enters event raw scores on the scorecard and initials each event on the scorecard. The scorerthen returns all scorecards to the OIC/NCOIC.
