APSU 2030 Facilities Master Plan The campus facilities master plan lays out the long-range plans for the physical development of campus in size, form, character, image, and environment.

It includes proposed new building growth while at the same time addresses renewal of buildings and defines outdoor spaces that unify all functions of the University.

It is the physical result of the University’s Vision, Mission, Strategic and Academic Plans and is the basis for the institution’s capital budget planning and submission to TBR, THEC and the State Building Commission.

How often is the Facilities Master Plan updated?

THEC policy F4.1.20.A states that “A facility master plan should be reviewed and updated for each institutions at least every five years…”

TBR Guideline B-022 states, “Campus facility master plans should be internally reviewed by campus staff at least every two years.”

Comprehensive: The updated Master Plan will consider the current and future physical infrastructure needs associated with all areas of the University, including academic and instructional support; research, public service, student services, institutional support, athletics, recreation and residential life and dining.

Consistency:The updated Master Plan will be consistent with other university plans including the Academic Master Plan and Strategic Plan. The plan will also consider previous plans such as the Housing Master Plan, Landscape Master Plan, Athletic Plan, Parking Plan and the City of Clarksville 2030 Plan.

Accessibility:The updated Master plan will ensure the campus is accessible, welcoming, safe, and inviting to the local community as well as student, faculty and staff, alumni and visitors.

Sustainability:The updated Master Plan will promote sustainability initiatives to enhance the quality of life and to meet economic, social, and environmental needs. The Plan will consider initiatives from the campus sustainability committee.

Data Based Analysis:The updated Master Plan will use a methodology that balances qualitative and quantitative approaches to assess the University’s physical needs.

Transparence and Inclusiveness:The updated Master Plan will be prepared with extensive consultation with faculty, staff, students and alumni from throughout the University with input from the Clarksville community.

I was hoping to keep this committee to be 9 to 11 members, but given the number of deans, that keeping a small size committee just won't work.Once you get a group of faculty, administratiors, staff, and students above 11 people, it becomes less usefull and less active and more passive. More a committee that expects information ot be presented to them as opposed to being actively engaged.
