The measures for the event are based on the general rules and regulations updated daily:

• e.g. Coronavirus Protection Ordinance of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia • e. g. City of Cologne - Official Gazette• Koelnmesse in close coordination with the responsible authorities

In accordance with these requirements, Koelnmesse has developed a series of measures in close cooperation with the authorities in Cologne: the #B-SAFE4business campaign. This consists of the following four, interdependent sub-areas:

• VISIT SAFE, MEET SAFE, SHOW SAFE and STAY SAFE

The goal: to provide the highest level of safety - in a setting in which business can grow again.

Current rules and regulations regarding the pandemic

VISIT SAFE

DISINFECTION AND CLEANINGWe will place disinfectant dispensers at all essential points throughout the premises. Regularly touched surfaces (e.g. counters, tables, handrails) will be cleaned more frequently.

MANDATORY MOUTH NOSE PROTECTIONFor the protection of all trade fair participants, everyone on the trade fair grounds is obliged to wear a mouth nose protection. The only exceptions are seating areas, e.g. at exhibition stands or at places providing food. For those who do not have their own masks, we will provide mouth nose protections at the entrance.

SUFFICIENT VENTILATION Our exhibition space is equipped with modern ventilation systems that allow for separate exhaust and outgoing air control.

HYGIENE IN SANITARY FACILITIES Our sanitary facilities will be cleaned at frequent intervals. We will ensure the minimum distance for hand washing and disinfection facilities.

CONTACT-FREE PATHS ON THE TRADE FAIR GROUNDS All door systems except fire doors remain permanently open to reduce contact with surfaces.

Page 11: aquanale/FSB Webinar 2021

11

VISIT SAFE

STAY AT HOME IF YOU ARE ILL You are prohibited from entering the trade fair grounds with symptoms of illness such as cough, fever, cold, sore throat, general weakness, diarrhoea, loss of taste or smell!

RKI-CORONA-APPPlease use the RKI-Corona-App, which warns you if you have come into contact with people who have tested positive.

Page 12: aquanale/FSB Webinar 2021

12

MEET SAFE

NUMBER OF VISITORS ON THE TRADE FAIR GROUNDS With online registration and online tickets, we always have an eye on the number of visitors and ensure that the minimum distance of 1.5 metres can always be maintained.

EXPANSION OF THE TRADE FAIR AREASWe will check the floor space for each individual event and increase this if necessary. This will enhance the visitors’ and exhibitors’ opportunities to move around and ensure that distancing is possible.

ADAPTATION OF AISLE WIDTHS AND TRAFFIC AREASIn advance, we will determine the aisle widths and traffic areas for each event in a way that the minimum distance of 1.5 metres can be guaranteed.

REGULATIONS FOR CONFERENCESConferences are an essential part of many of our trade fairs. For the protection of all participants, we will adjust the seating and the number of seats. We will not offer standing room and we will specify separate entrances and exits where necessary.

SUFFICIENT SPACE IN THE ENTRANCE AND WAITING AREASWe will plan the entrance situation individually for each event and calculate passage speeds and the maximum number of peoplefor each of our entrances. We also stipulate minimum distances in the waiting areas.

Page 13: aquanale/FSB Webinar 2021

13

SHOW SAFE

CONSTRUCTION DESIGNIn the interests of a safe trade fair, the minimum distance also applies to the trade fair stands.

BUSINESS CONTACT ETIQUETTEIn order to protect everyone’s health, the minimum distance of 1.5 metres should also be maintained during

business meetings and physical contact and shaking hands should be avoided.

HYGIENEDisinfectants must be provided at each stand; surfaces need to be cleaned regularly or after each business

meeting.

EVENTS AT THE STANDSUnfortunately, we cannot allow any party-like events at stands in the time of coronavirus.

Page 14: aquanale/FSB Webinar 2021

14

STAY SAFE

MONITORINGWe will use technical devices to always keep an eye on and, if necessary, regulate the spread of trade fair participants and the flow of visitors. An app will be made available to exhibitors and visitors for this purpose.

DIGITAL SIGNAGE SYSTEMSWe already use our digital signage system in a large part of our exhibition grounds. This enables us to provide targeted information at central points and to draw attention to current regulations.

TRADE FAIR EVENTSKoelnmesse will review the feasibility of each event planned at the trade fair. Unfortunately, we cannot allow any party-like events at stands in the time of coronavirus.

INDIVIDUAL DESIGN OF CRUCIAL HUBS We know at which hubs queuing and increased visitor traffic can occur. In order to avoid this, special regulations for cloakrooms, bag checks, turnstiles, information counters, car park ticket machines or lifts will be introduced.

TRACKING VIA FULL REGISTRATION OF ALL PARTICIPANTSAll trade fair participants have already registered in advance via online ticket purchase or via their exhibitor pass in order to receive their access authorisation. This is to ensure that Koelnmesse can quickly identify the contacts of a person who tests positive for coronavirus.

Page 15: aquanale/FSB Webinar 2021

15

STAY SAFE

TICKET SALESTickets are sold exclusively online. The tickets are available on mobile devices and allow contactless access.

FOOD SERVICEOur food service partner has developed a comprehensive concept for hall and stand catering that meets all legal requirements. This includes measures such as contactless payment.

DIGITAL SERVICESWith a variety of digital services, we bring our customers together - not only on the trade fair grounds but also virtually. Each event offers exhibitors and visitors numerous opportunities to digitally participate in the trade fair.

MEDICAL CAREQualified medical care is available on site at all times.

YOUR STAY IN COLOGNEIn order to ensure your safety and health outside of the trade fair grounds as well, we work closely with the hotel and restaurant industry in Cologne. All hotels are obliged to implement the current hygiene and infection protection standards laid down in the Coronavirus Protection Ordinance of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

#B-SAFE4business Village

• In October 2020, we brought our concept to life with the #B-SAFE4business Village with concrete examples that demonstrate how we are implementing the hygiene and distancing measures in accordance with coronavirus requirements in effect. In the #B-SAFE4business Village image film you get an insight.

• Not only do we promise to do our level best to ensure the safety of our exhibitors, visitors and partners. We also show it!

• This body scanner enables contactless screening of people in compliance with coronavirus regulations.

• Koelnmesse uses the HSR system at the entrances to the trade fair grounds.

• It is a free-flow system that enables safety screening of thousands of people per hour.

• It detects improvised explosive devices, firearms and other weapons, and it is perfectly designed to assist with distancing and low-contact security checks.

eGuard, a new smartphone app, is part of the measures Koelnmesse has put in place to ensure the highest level of professional safety.

In order for the app to deliver accurate information about visitor density at any point on the trade fair grounds, use of the app is mandatory for all people throughout their stay in the trade fair halls and must be actively running in the background of their smartphone.

The app does not collect any personal data. It gives users an opportunity to stay away from halls with high visitor density. It gives our safety teams a way to take steps to prevent or disperse large groups of people.

The anonymous smartphone app can be downloaded from the App Store: koelnmesse.com/app-eguard.

This explanatory video shows you how the smartphone app works.

• Koelnmesse’s new eSlot Management is an online booking portal for arrivals to the trade fair grounds, complete with desired time window, during set-up and dismantling.

• The booking portal is used to register individuals and vehicles approaching. Also offered are dynamic retrieval management of vehicles to the parking position and intelligent target management using NUNAV routing technology.

• A self-check-in counter for arriving drivers as well as a mobile application for area/gate managers reduces personal contact on the trade fair grounds to a minimum.

Trade fair stands - catering, food, drinks

• Food sampling at the trade fair stand is permitted, either as part of a meeting at a table or as a presentation of samples to taste at the counter. The products must be presented by stand staff in observance of all hygiene regulations.

• The taste samples distributed may be packaged or unpackaged. Even if the samples are wrapped, self-service (e.g. from a bowl containing several taste samples) is not permitted.

• Exhibitors have permission to prepare food for their trade fair guests in their stand kitchen (no professional catering) as long as all of the requirements – e.g. those that also apply in the catering industry – are met.

• In this connection, please also consider the hygiene requirements that apply to table surfaces (regular wiping with changes in guests).

• Show kitchens are permitted provided that the cooking/preparation takes place behind a screen. Stand personnel are permitted to offer the prepared food to visitors of the demo. The show kitchen must be planned with a distance of 1.5 m from the hall aisle and with enough space for the spectators.

Playing it safe with stand construction

To ensure that our exhibitors can be confident that the current hygiene regulations have been fully taken into account in their stand construction, we offer them our Booth Check Plus.

We check the design of exhibitors' stands in detail and, if necessary, make recommendations for redesigning them to comply with the regulations - thus ensuring safe participation at the trade fair.

Exhibits/Product display cases move into the stand space

Customer exhibits and product display cases should not be placed directly at the boundary of the stand but instead somewhat recessed (guide: 1–1.5 m) to keep people from congregating in the aisles between stands. Also, information counters or meeting areas should be set back from the aisle.

Page 37: aquanale/FSB Webinar 2021

37

The permitted number of people depends on the stand size and the individual facilities of the stand.

To calculate the maximum number of people, 1 person per 4 m² of freely accessible area can be taken as a rough estimate.

The amount of available seating can be added to this as far as the 1.5 m distance

rule still applies. However, the number of people may be higher in certain cases if

additional measures are taken (e.g. privacy screens between seats).

Please note that suitable measures must be taken to regulate the maximum

number of people at the stand.
