Orange (Beginner) Students work with an instructor to learn how to blow
bubbles, submerge face in the water, float, kick, use their arms and glide with assistance. Students will play games designed to promote proper swimming skills and water safety. Parents are encouraged to sit on the side and cheer their child along as they take on new challenges and progress in their swimming skills.
Yellow (Beginner/Intermediate) This class is for children who are comfortable in
the water. Students will work on the transition between assisted and unassisted swimming. In this class, students will work on gliding, kicking, using their arms, floating and swimming with little to no assistance.
Green (Intermediate) Students will work on independence in the water
and learning how to swim on their front and back without assistance. Students will be introduced to deep water and how to swim comfortably on their own to safety.
Blue (Intermediate/Advanced) Students will learn coordinated freestyle &
backstroke, rolling over and reversing direction, elementary backstroke and deep-water entries, including a sitting dive and personal floatation device use. Students will work on swimming the length of the pool.
Purple (Advanced) Students will learn coordinated freestyle & backstroke, rolling over and reversing direction,
elementary backstroke, deep-water entries including a sitting dive and personal floatation device use. Students will work on swimming the length of the pool while improving their strokes and endurance. Students will also learn introductory water safety techniques.
SRD Sprouts Program Ages 3-5yrs
Parent/Child Classes A) 6 -18mos. B)18mos. - 3yrs A water orientation course for very young children & their parents. Through a variety of songs, games and
safety skills, children learn to enjoy the water with their parent(s). Children are not expected to learn to swim in this class. Children 3 and under must wear a swim liner available at the pool or office for $10 (Re-usable)

SRD Level 1Orientation to water for new students will includeentering/exiting water independently, submergingface, opening eyes under water, blowing bubbles,bobbing, supported kicking and floating, beginningarm stroke, introduction to Personal FloatationDevice (PFD) and personal water safety rules.
SRD Level 2 Students will learn jump-in entry, to retrieve objects,unsupported floating & gliding, kicking on front andback, combined stroke front and back, Personal Floatation Device (PFD) use, and beginning safety and rescue skills.
SRD Level 3Students will learn coordinated freestyle andbackstroke, rolling over and reversing direction,elementary backstroke, deep-water entries includingdiving, Personal Floatation Device (PFD) use, andbeginning rescue skills.
SRD Level 4 Students will learn breaststroke, sidestroke,introduction to butterfly, standing dives, turns atwall, treading. Students will improve freestyle andbackstroke and elementary backstroke, PersonalFloatation Device (PFD) and intermediate safety andrescue skills.
SRD Level 5Students will learn stride jump, feet first surfacedive, underwater swimming and butterfly stroke. Students will improve front dive, freestyle &backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, elementarybackstroke, open and flip turns, Personal FloatationDevice (PFD) and intermediate safety and rescueskills.
For children 6 and older. It is recommended that participants bring goggles to each class. Students with long hair mustsecure their hair or use a swim cap.

Students will improve freestyle & backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly, Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and intermediate to advanced safety and rescue skills.
SRD Swim ClubSwim Club is an exciting aquatic program designedfor children 6 years old and up that are at a Level 3+ and above. Each swimmer will have the opportunity to work one on one with SRD Aquatic Coordinators and SRD Staff. Swimmers will develop proper stroke technique, strengthen core muscles and improve on endurance over the course of the session. For more information see pgs. 36-37.
SRD Swim Club SelectLevel 7 Ages 11-18Select students will be carefully chosen to be eligible for this advance Level 7 Swim Club Select optimizingtheir skill training in all strokes, underwater swimming, butterfly, backstroke flip turns, andtreading water. Objectives include exceeding 500 yard continuous swim with turns, personal fitness plan development, advanced safety and rescue skills including retrieving a brick from 9-feet of water (preparationfor Lifeguard Course). Students will progress focusing on core, interval, endurance and speed training with a 1:8 coaching ratio.

Aquatics - Swim ClubSwim Club is an exciting 7-Level aquatic program designed for students 6-15 years of age. Each swimmer will have the opportunity to work one on one with the SRD Aquatic Coordinators and SRD Staff while participating in a professional lap swim training program. Students will develop proper stroke technique, strengthen core muscles and improve endurance over the course of the sessions. For more information refer to SRD Swim Level Descriptions, individual objectives on SRD swim cards, or contact the SRD Main Office. To Register: Prerequisites for each level are designed to maintain quality instruction, optimizing the overall learning experience for each student. Incoming students schedule a FREE swim evaluation prior to registration to ensure proper lane placement. Requirements: Swim evaluation, swim goggles, swim cap or neatly secured hair.
Beginner (Level 3)Prerequisite: Successfully complete the SRD Deep Water Swim Test and swim 25 yards backstroke, 10 yards breaststroke, 10 yards butterfly kick with proper stroke technique. Completion of SRD Level 2 or equivalent. Introduction to lap swim, detailed skill technique, swimming drills, starts, finishes and diving while building endurance in the water. If you are interested in joining a swim team this is a great start!
Intermediate (Level 4)Prerequisite: Successfully complete the SRD Deep Water Swim Test. Completion of SRD Level 3 or equivalent. Complete 25 yards of each Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke, 10 yards of Butterfly, and open turns with proper stroke technique.Learn techniques to improve water entry, transitions, strokes and speed in the water. Stroke technique goals include; strengthen and refine freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, introduction to butterfly, and utilizing flip turns to continuously swim a minimum of 250 yards.
Advanced (Levels 5, 6, 7, 7+Swim Club Select see pg. 31)Prerequisite: Successfully complete the SRD Deep Water Swim Test. Completion of SRD Level 4 or equivalent. Complete 50 yards Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke, 25yards of Butterfly and flip turns with proper stroke technique.Levels 5, 6 and 7 are designed to advance swim technique, training, speed and endurance to a pre-professional level. Students will review all lower level skills including utilization of Personal Flotation Device (PFD). Water entry skill development includes stride jump, feet first surface dive, and board diving in tuck & pike position. Additional advance skill training in underwater swimming, butterfly stroke, backstroke flip turns, treading water for 5-minutes. Objectives include 500 yard continuous swim with turns, personal fitness plan development, advanced safety and rescue skills including retrieving a brick from 9-feet of water (preparation for Lifeguard Course).
