JOB DESCRIPTION
Architects work in the construction industry and are involved with designing new buildings, extensions or alterations to existing buildings
They can also work on individual buildings or on large redevelopment schemes, and can be responsible for the design of the surrounding landscape and spaces.
REQUIRED TRAINING
Prospective architects must complete a professional degree program that is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board in order to become licensed in most states. High school graduates who want to become an architect may enroll in a Bachelor of Architecture program.
SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS NEEDED The skill an Architect should have is the ability to creatively problem-solve.
Have to be able to express their ideas by paper form
Doesn’t need to be a professional at drawing but has to be able to sketch
Its important that an architect is capable of doing simple math to locate parts of the building and calculate square footages
Communication is very important as an architect
An architect also need to Understand and demonstrate you understand the business
Lastly an architect need to know how to manage his/her time effectively
