note: because important web-sites are frequently "here today but gone tomorrow", the following was archived on August 29, 2008. This is NOT an attempt to divert readers from the aforementioned web-site. Indeed, the reader should only read this back-up copy if the updated original cannot be found at the original author's site.

[StealthSkater note: I have long thought that there was a "common denominator" of sorts between UFO sightings, ESP/remote-viewing, time-travel, events such as the Philadelphia Experiment, etc. And that is why my website contains so much (indeed, some say too much!) on these seemingly quite different subjects. There must be others who share this feeling and perhaps have taken it to the next level (i.e., proposing theories etc.). One such person is a Joshua Warren (Asheville, North Carolina) who was recently featured on C2CAM.

A Google search turned up Marie D. Jones who may be a more "scientific" researcher than Mr. Warren. I included some of her stuff below.

Note that your own Google searches will turn up a TON of material on these individuals.]

Joshua P. Warrenhttp://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2008/08/19.html

Investigator Joshua P. Warren (http://www.joshuapwarren.com/) returned, sharing his latest research on active paranormal sites in places such as Puerto Rico. More than ever, he is seeing a relationship between UFOs, ghosts, aliens, and cryptids and noticing that more than one type of these activities are taking place at specific locales. Time is a key component to paranormal mysteries, he commented, with ghosts tied to the past and UFOs possibly connected to the bending of time/space.

Encounters with balls or spheres of light have been reported all over Puerto Rico. And sometimes people communicate telepathically with them, said Warren. He also discussed ghost photos such as a 1950 image taken during a remodeling of the White House (http://users.boardnation.com/~shadowboxent/index.php?board=1&action=display&threadid=1719&start=0) which shows a transparent figure. In order to discern true photographic anomalies, he suggested taking photos of various physical phenomena such as dust, insects, and cigarette smoke to see how they appear on your camera.

Warren said that he was trying to balance his research beyond just the use of electronic equipment and had learned how to read auras. He also announced his upcoming contest (http://www.ufocontest.com/) to fake UFOs and previous winner Jeff Wilson appeared briefly, speaking about his techniques for building small airborne objects.

Ghosts or Spirits

Now that we have explored one aspect of the paranormal and its relationship with Quantum Mechanics (UFOs), let us delve deeper into the morass. While Warps, fields, wormholes, and vortices may provide gateways for alien civilizations, they are most likely also the mechanism that allows other manifestations to enter our world from adjacent dimensions, of space and or time.

Paranormal Investigator Joshua P. Warren believes that this is certainly the case. He even accurately points out that some locations seem to be more active than others. This makes sense for several reasons. One, not every place is haunted. And two, because the Earth's magnetic field is not balanced and the physical Earth form is not balanced, there are places that display unusual geomagnetic activity. Which in turn causes reality to behave differently.

Warren believes that ghostly effects occur because of distortions in the laws of Physics. He correlates this statement with his research data linking paranormal manifestations to abnormal electromagnetic activity. He further believes that at the event horizon, linear time does not apply. This would cause twisted perceptions by the observer calling logic and reason into question and could allow for paranormal entities and phenomena to exist.

Ghosts tend to be associated with the Past. Meaning they are usually a manifestation of a person or thing that existed in the Past and somehow are now affecting the Present. Our Present is also their Future. To me, this implies time-travel and the ability to cross from one dimension or point in space/time to another.

Warren refers to some ghosts as "Imprints" which do not appear to be aware of what is going on in our reality even though they are interacting with it. They seem oblivious to the observer. "Imprints" often repeat the same tasks over-and-over as if they were residual memories recorded at a particular place in the environment.

I believe that this could be an event recorded by the Zero-Point Field which may also be what Edgar Cayce referred to as the Akashic records. If you have read Cayce, he believed the Akashic records held every thought, memory, action, and thing. So then, if these type of manifestations are recorded on the ZPF, then psychics who can see ghosts have the ability to tap into the ZPF and witness these occurrences.

Crypto-zoology

Many crypto-zoologists believe that the Mothman, Loch Ness Monster, Big Foot, New Jersey Devil, Ole Three Toes, and other mysterious animals reported by reliable witnesses are in fact inter-dimensional beings, capable of moving between dimensions.

In fact, Nick Redfern, Jon Downes, and Richard Freeman report that these creatures seem to have the ability to appear and disappear instantaneously (much like UFOs, right?). They have also collected evidence that indicates they can tamper with electromagnetic fields as well as emit electrical discharges (all much like UFOs, don’t you think?).

2

Page 3: archived as   · Web viewmore of the cosmology at . note: because important web-sites are frequently "here today but gone tomorrow", the

These creatures also seem to exist in areas where other phenomena common to time storms occur such as mysterious fogs, elevated or spiking EMF, and even unusual light radiation. It has been well documented by research (William Roll, for example) that this type of activity (i.e., paranormal) increases with the increase in solar flares, magnetic storms, increased solar wind, and elevated sunspot activity -- all things that effect the Earth's electromagnetic field. These types of electromagnetic fluctuations also cause a lot of weird things to happen such as garage doors opening and closing by themselves to electrical grid failures.

Michael Persinger has pointed out his research indicating that it interferes with ESP as well. He proved a significant relationship between geomagnetic disturbances and increased psycho-kinesis (RSPK). These disturbances also affect the brain and have been documented as bringing on epileptic seizures (according to medical journals) and have inspired some researchers in psychology to entertain the thought that all paranormal activity is hallucination triggered by these events. Of course, they fail to address the cause of manifestations that occur when there is no elevated level of geomagnetic anomalies.

Roll believed that the geomagnetic eruptions and RSPK relationship made total sense since the epileptic and RSPK processes were similar in the brain.

While there seems to be a connection between certain places, magnetic anomalies, time storms, warps, Zero-Point Field, etc. and the appearance of the supernatural, it is certainly not the only way for the paranormal to manifest itself. There are others…

Resonance, for example, is also an option and a part of my own theory that has to do with frequency. A while back, I posted a Blog laying out my personal theory on everything having a frequency and this being the key. We know that there is no such thing as empty space but, instead, space is filled with particles that are alive with quantum fluctuations or vibrations (or FREQUENCY!). Everything vibrates. In our reality -- and I dare say in every reality -- there is no such thing as "stillness". Every planet, person, and particle vibrates.

I play guitar. Some of you do as well. I have in the past used a guitar as an example and I am going to do so again. When you go to the music store and you take that sweet Ovation Acoustic guitar down and pluck a string, if you listen very carefully, you will hear the same note emanating from the Martin D-2 hanging a few feet away.

In fact, if you could listen to every stringed instrument in the store, they would ALL be echoing the same note. Metaphysical healers refer to this phenomenon as "entrainment" or what happens when 2-or-more people who are close to each other, vibrating at different frequencies, begin altering their vibrations to the same frequency.

Think of this as the Zero-Point Field acting as a field of entrainment where particles tune to specific frequencies creating various forms of matter, energy, actions, and interactions. We in the scientific community refer to this as resonance. In sound applications, a resonant frequency is a natural frequency of vibration determined by the physical parameters of the vibrating object. This same basic idea of physically determined natural frequencies applies throughout physics in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, and even throughout the realm of modern Physics.

Resonance in Chemistry is a tool used to represent and model certain types of non-classical molecular structures. Resonance is a key component of valence bond theory and arises when no single conventional model using only even number of electrons shared exclusively by two atoms can actually represent the observed molecule.

3

Page 4: archived as   · Web viewmore of the cosmology at . note: because important web-sites are frequently "here today but gone tomorrow", the

There are 2 closely related -- but useful-to-distinguish -- meanings given to the term "resonance". One of these has to do with diagrammatic representation of molecules using Lewis structures while the other has to do with the mathematical description of a molecule using valence bond theory. In both cases, resonance involves representing or modeling the structure of a molecule as an intermediate, average (a resonance hybrid) between several simpler but incorrect structures.

In Physics, resonance is the tendency of a system to oscillate at maximum amplitude at a certain frequency. This frequency is known as the system's resonant frequency. When damping is small, the resonant frequency is approximately equal to the natural frequency of the system which is the frequency of free vibrations.

Paranormal Meets ScienceMarie D. Jones -- author of PSIence science explaining the unexplained

by Stephen Wagner, About.com

As a child who had mystic experiences and was the daughter of a scientist, perhaps it was her destiny that Marie D. Jones would as an adult write a book investigating the connections between science and the unexplained.

In PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena, Marie gives us an entertaining, highly accessible view of some of the most “out there” discoveries being made by mainstream physicists and their connections to many aspects of what we call the “supernatural”. From ghosts and poltergeists to UFOs and time warps, Marie tells us that real science may be getting close to explaining how these “unreal” manifestations have become part of our reality.

In this interview, Marie tells us how Science and the Paranormal are coming together.

Q: For many years, “paranormal” and “science” could not be uttered together seriously in the same sentence. Your book and others now emerging are attempting to tie the two together. What has changed or what is new that is allowing this?

A: I think it’s a matter of timing. With the release of the movie What the Bleep Do We Know?! (http://erclk.about.com/?zi=15/vxt) and books like Dr. Wayne Dyer’s The Power of Intention (http://erclk.about.com/?zi=15/vxu) and Lynne McTaggart’s The Field (http://erclk.about.com/?zi=15/vxv) among many others over the last 10 years, the links between quantum physics and metaphysics have finally become mainstream enough to allow for other books -- like mine -- to hit the marketplace and get the dialog really cooking. People on both sides of the fence (i.e., the science side and the paranormal side) are more willing to look for similarities rather than focus on differences and to be more tolerant, open, and professional about the entire process.

It is also getting harder to separate the 2 areas of study because there are some maverick scientists who themselves are interested in exploring the paranormal. They are writing books and becoming more vocal about their ideas and theories. And of course, there are paranormal researchers who are interested in applying the scientific method to their own studies when they can.

You can only ignore the similarities between science and the world of the mysterious for so long and it seems the tipping point has been reached in favor of “coming out of the closet” and being able to approach the paranormal from a far more serious perspective -- even dare I say -- a scientific one.

Q: Why do you think it’s important to tie science and the paranormal together?

A: I firmly believe that Science can explain everything we as humans experience. It’s just that modern science has not yet caught up with the mysterious and enigmatic world of the paranormal. But it’s getting closer and closer. Everything has a “science” or a structure to it -- a "how" and a "why". Everything -- and that includes a ghost or a UFO sighting or even a spectral black dog roaming the moors of England -- has a valid and understandable explanation.

7

Page 8: archived as   · Web viewmore of the cosmology at . note: because important web-sites are frequently "here today but gone tomorrow", the

Now whether we have the scientific terminology right here and now to explain those things is the greater question. But the potential is there just as it was hundreds of years ago when a small, select group of people set out to prove the Earth was not flat and indeed did, despite overwhelming disbelief and opposition. There were those who simply could not wrap their minds around the possibility that the Earth revolved around the Sun. And yet a few brave souls said “Yeah, it does” and the entire scientific paradigm shifted permanently.

Q: Do you think any aspects of the paranormal will be “proved” in the strict scientific sense of that word?

A: I think it is only a matter of time before somebody somehow somewhere manages to come up with undeniable proof of a ghost, UFO, poltergeist, telekinesis – you name it. Perhaps not all at once. But as scientists and paranormal researchers pool their knowledge, skills and talents, it seems inevitable.

Perhaps the one area with the most potential would be UFOs, should we have a landing caught on tape! I mean, with all the people out there with cell phone cameras, it’s bound to happen.

But for the masses to accept proof of the paranormal on a widespread level, it might end up having to involve something that a large number of people can relate to such as ESP or psychic abilities – something we all have a bit of a gift for in varying amounts.

And of course, the most provable events will be those that lend themselves to the known laws of Science such as quantum and theoretical physics. If you can take a paranormal event and show it exists within the confines of the known -- even if you are talking about theoretical laws, laws not yet proven themselves but pretty close to being regarded as scientific truth -- then that certainly helps.

Quantum Physics opens the door to proving such things as ESP and psychic abilities because of non-locality and entanglement which are popular “hot” terms nowadays. But even those events that involve varying forms and frequencies of energy such as ghosts, poltergeists, and even some UFO sightings can find some semblance of proof in the quantum and theoretical world of Physics if more-and-more physicists open their minds and set about applying what they know to what they don’t know.

Q: What’s your view of the so-called Akashic Record? Is this just another name for “universal consciousness”? Or “God”?

A: What fascinates me is how many different religions, cultures, and belief systems speak of this universal field of all/everything that we can all tap into and access Past, Present, and Future knowledge. I think that Edgar Cayce was talking about the same Zero-Point Field that everyone is exploring today (which sounds like the Book of Life of biblical times) and the collective consciousness of Jung, and the Kingdom of Heaven which Jesus said was spread out before us but that we could not see with our eyes.

I guess you could equate this field -- this Hall of Records that contains every thought, action, behavior -- as some kind of "God", a creative and regenerative force from which all else springs forth. But perhaps this field is encompassed within something even greater which could be God. Even at the quantum level, we know that everything is connected to everything else. So we are in a sense all a part of the web that also houses the Akashic Records, and all a part of the creative force that keeps it all together. 'God' is just a word for “everything and anything that ever was, is, and will be.

Q: Do you think time-travel is possible?8

Page 9: archived as   · Web viewmore of the cosmology at . note: because important web-sites are frequently "here today but gone tomorrow", the

A: Absolutely. We know that time at the quantum level is not linear and that Past, Present, and Future all exist at once. Again, it’s only a matter of time, talent, and ingenuity on behalf of us “lowly humans” before we figure out a way to bend space and time to our benefit!

Of course, there are many experiments that have been conducted and some still going on that have found success at sending a particle into the Future. Okay, so it was maybe a millisecond of a millisecond of a millisecond into the Future. But if that is possible, then it becomes possible with further study to figure out how to send that particle a second into the Future. And one day a minute into the Future.

Jenny Randles wrote a great book about this stuff called Breaking the Time Barrier. I highly recommend it. She covers time-travel experiments over the last several decades. I had no idea so much was going on and that some successes were on the books!

Q: Have you ever had a paranormal or unexplained experience yourself?

A: Being the daughter of a scientist and quite an analytical little creature, I can say that I think I’ve had paranormal experiences. I did sense the presence of a poltergeist at a teenage friend’s house. This friend (about whom I write in the book) had a poltergeist in the house and I did feel something very unusual one morning after staying overnight. Something I’d never felt before that felt “unreal.”

I also believe I saw a UFO (i.e., that is, an "unidentified flying object") in La Costa, California in the late 1990s. I am not saying it came from Mars. But it was a type of vehicle I could not even fathom, even after being trained with MUFON and having some knowledge of the cutting edge military aircraft at the time. It was solid with 4 lights -- two in front and two in back. And the damned thing moved through the dusk sky flipping end-over-end-over-end. It was amazing to watch as it went off into the hills and vanished. I couldn’t follow it. At the time, it was an open space area of rolling hills. Today it is another subdivision.

As a child, though, I did experience a lot of things. I believe I saw ghosts, alien creatures, and my sister and I insist a man drove a blue car through our bedroom. Really! I had visions as a child which I could discern as being different from my dreams and nightmares (which I had plenty of). I was highly imaginative but always knew when I was experiencing something not entirely “made up in my head.”

I did have a lot of rather mystical experiences as a child when I would spend time alone in nature. I was a tomboy, always out looking for birds and animal tracks and digging for fossils. Later, I took up meditation and had some experiences that were quite mystical and were certainly profound enough to change my life and send me off in pursuit of metaphysical knowledge, eventually leading to the writing of this book. So, most of my more recent experiences have been more "metaphysical" rather than paranormal, although it is all -- in my mind -- a part of the same big, grand mystery of Life – that which is seen and that which is unseen.

Interview with Marie D. Jonesby Amy Brozio-Andrews (managing editor of Absolute Write)

Marie D. Jones is the author of PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena. She lives in California with her husband and son where she is hard at work on her next book to be co-authored with her father: Supervolcano: The Catastrophic Event That Changed the Course of Human History (August 2007).

Q: What was your inspiration for writing PSIence: How New Discoveries In Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena? What do you hope to achieve with its publication? Who's your target audience?

A: I had been reading a lot of books about Quantum Physics. And with my longtime interest in the paranormal, I was surprised to see so many correlations between the two. When I get excited about something, I tend to write about it. So that really motivated me to do this book.

My hope for the book is to just keep the dialogue going between researchers and scientists and thinkers and expand the possibilities. I think that this book presents plenty of solid research and intriguing speculation that will prompt others to do their own seeking and maybe come up with even more exciting discoveries and theories.

My audience is really quite large. I've got the paranormal crowd and anyone who is interested in such things as well as people who are intrigued by quantum physics and even metaphysics. The movie "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" has really put these subjects in the public "mind". My book also holds appeal for anyone interested in human consciousness and our role in creating reality. So the book really covers a huge amount of ground!

Q: How did you do your research for the book (finding experts, exploring and validating theories, etc.)? Is the finished book much different than what you had in mind when you started? Do you have any advice for writers doing research for nonfiction books?

A: I love doing research. I could research a subject for years and never get around to the writing! But what I did was surround myself with books, articles, journals, and websites; watch TV documentaries; and e-mail and call anyone I could think of to pick their brains on the subject at hand.

I am a strong believer in asking. You often get what you want and make some great connections in the process. Many of the people I interviewed for PSIence are now helping me promote the book. And we keep in touch via e-mail. Experts love to help out and offer their ideas and theories. Although I had a hard time getting physicists to respond because they are more reluctant to talk about this stuff. And the ones who are willing are so darned busy, now that this subject matter is really taking off. They are the new rock stars, these quantum physicists!

As far as research, what I did was make chapter folders filled with relevant articles and also stacked the books I would use for that particular chapter by my desk. Then I would have everything I needed at my fingertips, chapter-by-chapter. I write in order, too. Chapter One is first. My brain seems to work best in a linear fashion.

10

Page 11: archived as   · Web viewmore of the cosmology at . note: because important web-sites are frequently "here today but gone tomorrow", the

I want to warn other new nonfiction writers that you really have to be careful writing nonfiction. Be careful that you don't over-research. That can become very intimidating and scare you away from the work. At some point, just stop and start writing and know that you can always find what you need as you go along. Thank God for the Internet! And also be careful not to get so many opinions from experts that you lose sight of your own opinion!

The finished book is really what I had envisioned when I did my proposal. I do tend to stick to my proposal and suggested chapters pretty closely. And yet I am also flexible enough to move things around, add, delete. The end goal of having a great book and one that is fun to read is always the brass ring I strive for.

I like to include humor a lot, too, when writing about heavily-researched stuff. I find it helps people absorb all the facts and figures. I love to put quotes from famous people at the beginning of my chapters. And I always make my chapter titles fun and kooky.

Q: Please tell us a little about the process of writing and selling your book. Had you completed the manuscript when you sold the book to New Page or were you able to make the sale from a proposal? How long did the various aspects of the project take -- e.g., writing the book, the proposal, making the sale? Do you have an agent? If so, do you have any other advice for fellow writers on securing an agent?

A: I have a wonderful agent and she shopped my proposal. I am a master of writing proposals! I've done so many. I will never write a complete nonfiction book before selling it. Now I know better!

We got the deal in November of 2005 -- pretty much just a couple of months after we started sending the proposal out -- and the book was due in May of 2006. It's out this November, so it's been a year. I had 6 months to write this book and ended up doing it in 5 months. That's writing just a few hours a day because I have a little boy who demands my attention.

But I learned a long time ago that you do your best work and often the MOST work when you have a deadline. I've found that when I've had all the time in the world to write, I write very little. I have a love/hate relationship with pressure. I work so well under it, yet I am anxious the whole time. Oh the life of a writer!

Q: How do you reconcile Religion, Science, and the Paranormal?

A: I believe it is all paranormal until we come to understand it. Then it becomes normal. To me, Science describes the structure of a thing. Religion describes the essence of a thing. Yet it is all a part of the same great whole.

I think of it like a yardstick with Science at one end, Religion at the other, and the Paranormal in the middle. All are connected. Yet our understanding and perception of each is what places them at certain positions along the yardstick. American philosopher Elbert Hubbard summed it up best when he said: '"The supernatural is the natural not yet understood."

I am a firm believer that Science can explain everything. But scientists haven't caught up with those explanations yet. The potential for every experience to be explained scientifically is there, waiting for us to figure it out. Paranormal experiences are simply events that we don't quite yet have a law or theory to fully explain (although my book proves that even this is not quite true). Many events are being

11

Page 12: archived as   · Web viewmore of the cosmology at . note: because important web-sites are frequently "here today but gone tomorrow", the

documented in a laboratory setting. Which is exciting. But we must always keep in mind that the scientific method may not always be applicable to every experience. Especially when human consciousness becomes a factor.

If you think about how our lives -- jet planes and iPods and TV and Hummers and Howard Stern -- might look to someone living 200 years ago, they would think we were made of magic and paranormal and really "out there". So it's really all relative and a matter of perception. And the human mind is the key to perceiving the paranormal and seeing its connections to the quantum world.

I highly advise writers to find a good agent who believes in their work. I sold my first book without an agent. It was a very eye-opening experience. My book went nowhere despite some rave reviews. I much prefer knowing I am protected. My agent can get my work read fast and read by people I could never get to. Query and find someone you can count on. It's possible. I did it!

Oh … and it helps to have published in other formats -- e.g., short stories, poetry, essays, whatever. Agents want to know they are signing someone for the long haul and that you are committed to your craft and to your career. My agent expects me to sell a book a year. I am so down for that! It also helps if you can make them aware of your ability to market yourself. I know, you hate the "p" word. But "platform" is big nowadays. If you don't have one, start working on getting your name out there!

Q: Can you comment on authors' adoption of technology for promotion of their work (e.g., podcasts, blogging, and MySpace pages)? Have you always been an early adopter of technology? Do you believe that writers should maintain a certain core competency when it comes to new ways of promoting and marketing their work? Have you noticed a difference in adding these new marketing and promotional techniques to the traditional techniques available to writers?

A: I am a technological dork. I know nothing. I rely on my husband to help me with that. He is great with computers and techno stuff. My sister-in-law did my website (www.mariedjones.com) and my hubby does some of my graphics and helps me e-mail and do podcast recordings. But I am worthless myself although I am proud to say I did put up my own blog, psience.blogspot.com, and MySpace page! People who know how to do this stuff can really market themselves in a BIG way. Especially with podcasts and e-mail newsletters and really cool websites.

Now there are book trailers. And I want to make one of those -- short "movie trailers" for books. I don't know Flash animation or anything. So again I have to find someone willing to do it for me cheap! The more a writer can control her website and know how to maneuver in this technological world, the more she can do for herself. Marketing on the Internet is priceless and is something you can do any time of day or night unlike doing radio and TV shows (which are still important).

Q: You're co-writing your next book with your father. Are there special challenges inherent with collaborating with a parent? How are both of you working on the book? Is every step taken together or do you pass work back-and-forth? Did the two of you work out any ground rules before starting the project?

A: We had always talked about writing something together. But we were always so busy. My dad just retired and my publisher had asked me for another "science" book. So we finally got our chance! The fact that we are a father-daughter team is really cool and will add to the marketability of the book.

I do not advise collaborating unless you really know the person you are writing with is committed. Also, styles must match. I think it's easier to collaborate on nonfiction, though, because it's research-

heavy. In our case, we are writing about supervolcanoes and one in particular -- Toba -- that almost wiped humanity off the map.

We are dividing chapters between us. My dad is doing the more intensive stuff since he has the Ph.D. and the expertise. I am doing chapters I know I can handle. Then we will put it all together and I will smooth out the style so everything meshes. So far, I've been surprised at how our styles work so well because my dad is not a "book" writer although he has done a ton of writing for scientific journals. But he's coming through. The publisher is so excited about this book that it really gets us excited.

We are e-mailing chapters back-and-forth. Both of us are approaching experts for quotes and interviews and finding images and graphics that we can use. Sure the work goes twice as fast. But you lose some control of it. So that is why it is essential you know the person you are working with is as committed as you are.

I also collaborate with a screenwriter and that experience is much different. With screenplays, we have to write together to really keep the flow and the style cohesive.

Fiction is probably the hardest thing to collaborate on. I would seriously think twice about working with anyone. If you really feel you cannot do the book alone, go for it. But have some agreements about who will do what. Ground rules are critical and should be discussed before any contracts are signed! Preferably the moment you begin working on the project.

With my dad being my dad, it still applies. Maybe even more so working with a family member. So we have had to talk about everything from how we break down the work to how royalties will be divvied up. The more formal you can make it, the better both parties will feel and take it more seriously. There will be less hostility and grief all the way through the entire process.

Q: How do you balance the challenges of writing and raising a family?

A: I don't know how I do it. I shock myself sometimes with what I am able to accomplish in the little time I have. I have friends who want to write who have all the time and freedom in the world and they get nothing done. I have my writing career and a little boy in kindergarten who is disabled and requires a lot of therapies and work at home on his walking. I am a committed mom first and foremost.

Writing gets done when he is not around or when I can get my mom or husband to be with him so I can work. But I really try to get my writing done while he is in school. Weekends are family time unless I have a killer deadline. I have a very supportive and understanding creative spouse and also a really loving and cool mother who only lives 3 minutes away. So that helps.

I am also doing "NaNo" this year. That's National Novel Writing Month, [starting] November 1 st. You write an entire novel in one month. I did it last year and loved it. I will do that writing at night after my son and husband are asleep.

Despite my growing success as a nonfiction writer, fiction is my dream. I completed a novel last year during NaNo and hope to edit it and then I will have this new one for 2006. My goal is to be successful at both fiction and nonfiction. And maybe sell a script-or-two as well. I am very ambitious. Vraciously so! I should say so that is what keeps me going even when I am exhausted. Plus I am a glutton for punishment.

If you have a family and you write, join MomWriters or an online support group for writing dads and get help and find other writers you can commiserate with! It helps to know you are not alone and you can do this and stay sane.

Oh, and get a great writing coach or creative coach. Mine is Lisa Collazo of WriteWhatYouKnow.com. She is priceless. She keeps me on track and focused. I highly recommend a writing coach because it's like therapy for writers. It has helped me overcome so many fears and get things done. Ultimately though, if you are meant to write, you will write. It's just that simple!

PART ONE explores the paranormal world, focusing on aspects that suggest a scientific explanation.

Chapter One – Fermi Asked First

UFOs and extraterrestrial intelligence have long been thought to come from other planets in our universe. Much research suggests that this may not be the only place from which they are coming. No matter where they come from, how are they bending our laws of Physics to get here?

Chapter Two – Spectral Spectacles

The nature of ghosts, poltergeists, and mysterious spectral creatures that seem to possess the ability to move between our world and the next. What are they made of, how do they move between realities, and what can they teach us about the nature of energy?

Chapter Three – Into the Void

Energy vortices and the Bermuda Triangle. Possible portals into alternate dimensions and parallel universes. Energy zones and ley lines, sacred geometry, and time-travel.

Chapter Four – Mind, Unlimited

Mind-over-matter, ESP, telekinesis, precognition, remote-viewing and other forms of psi ability. How do we access the Past and the Future? Is remote-viewing a form of tapping into a collective field of information? Does PSI ability have a scientific basis?

PART TWO explores quantum physics and basic theories about parallel universes, multiple dimensions, time-travel, many-worlds theory, and entanglement. A primer of basic quantum physics and new discoveries including the Zero-Point Field.

Chapter Five – Quantum Physics 10114

Page 15: archived as   · Web viewmore of the cosmology at . note: because important web-sites are frequently "here today but gone tomorrow", the

The basic theories of quantum physics from non-locality to the more intriguing entanglement theory. An introductory look at the concepts that following chapters will connect with paranormal activity.

Chapter Six – A Universe On Every Corner

Multiple worlds, parallel universes, and the theoretical physicists who love them! Do we exist at the same time on many different levels of reality? Can we experience these alternate worlds?

Chapter Seven – Up, Up and Away!

Dimensions from the ordinary 3-D world we live in to the mind-boggling concept of a 4 th spatial dimension and beyond. Some theorize there may be as many as 12 dimensions -- all gigantic and at the tip of our noses!

Chapter Eight – The Field of All Possibility

The amazing discoveries surrounding the Zero-Point Field and its physical and metaphysical implications. Is this the collective unconscious of Jung or the Akashic Records of Cayce? Can the ZPF provide unlimited, free energy for space travel? Are UFOs already using the ZPF?

PART THREE brings the PSI and the SCIENCE together.

Chapter Nine – You Can Get Here From There

How UFOs could be utilizing wormholes in space to travel between universes and even travel through time. What types of fuel are they using? From anti-gravity to anti-matter, we explore how ET propulsion technologies are not only possible but -- in the case of the Zero-Point Field -- are even being researched in our own earthbound labs.

Chapter Ten – Resonance

The concept of vibrational physics, resonance, and the synchronistic relationship between different frequencies of energy. The ZPF suggests that all matter is vibrating. So what happens when matter synchs up? Can ghosts, poltergeists, and entities use resonance to move between worlds?

Chapter Eleven – Cosmic Mind, Conscious Mind

The power of perception, consciousness, and the observer to create and shape reality. How quantum physics proves that the observer is key to the observed reality and what this means for PSI and paranormal phenomena. What role does our consciousness play in inviting paranormal activity into our reality? Can we attract it? Is PSI ability available to anyone who under-stands the role of perception?

Chapter Twelve – As Above, So Below

Comparison of ancient religious teachings with modern quantum physics. Seems the ancient ones knew all about things like parallel universes, alternate dimensions, and even wormholes through space and time! “In my Father’s house are many mansions…”

What They Are Saying About PSIence …

"In PSIence, Marie Jones takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride into the unknown. Daring to penetrate the shadowy realms that co-exist alongside our own world, Jones provides much food for thought as she weaves together a fascinating theory to explain the many and varied mysteries that have fascinated humankind for millennia. If you are interested in UFOs, ghosts, strange beasts, aliens, ancient mysteries and more, PSIence is a book that you definitely need to read."

-- Nick Redfern, author of Three Men Seeking Monsters and Body Snatchers in the Desert

"Marie is an expert layperson in communicating what can be some daunting new science to those who want to know more. She boils it down to its essentials and has done so deftly and brilliantly."

-- Pavel Mikoloski, author of What The BLEEP Do We Know!?

"We now have the facts -- details of how Science and Faith intersect. Matter and energy are infinitely available and can manifest in virtually any way. Marie D. Jones has done a thorough job of explaining this. She takes us on a journey so complete that this book is worth dozens in your library. Any researcher of the paranormal will be delighted."

-- Joshua P. Warren, President of L.E.M.U.R., author of How to Hunt Ghosts and Pet Ghosts

"The days of the petrochemical-powered rocket are rapidly coming to an end. With the recent advances in Science -- particularly quantum physics -- it is becoming clear that the future lies in the manipulation of energy at the atomic and sub-atomic level. The once hard line between Science and metaphysics is becoming more and more blurred. Einstein’s Unified Field Theory now sounds like the Force in Star Wars.

"And if the entire Universe is truly one integrated mass of energy, then the Buddhists may be correct about everything being connected to everything else. This concept goes a long way in explaining phenomena such as psychic abilities, prophecy, remote-viewing, and the long-reported actions of UFOs. Marie Jones has joined the list of forward thinking individuals who are taking us to the next level in both Science and our understanding of the Universe and our place in it."

-- Jim Marrs, journalist and author of New York Times bestsellers Alien Agenda and Rule by Secrecy

"For centuries, Science has mostly avoided the study of the paranormal because the subject isn’t something that can be easily put in a test tube and measured. Science simply didn’t know how to pose the right questions in order to find answers in this realm. Marie Jones’s new book PSIence is a bold step forward in applying quantum physics to a millennia-old quandary. The theories she offers are insightful and at times startling. Highly recommended for those who are on a quest for answers."

-- Jeff Belanger, founder of Ghostvillage.com, author of The World’s Most Haunted Places, beer maker, singer, songwriter, and janitor.

Science and the Supernatural converge in PSIence

Many of the World’s leading scientists, researchers, and spiritual leaders -- from noted physicists like Michio Kaku to the Dalai Lama -- are beginning to accept the possibility of alternate realities and dimensions that warp time and space. In PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena, author Marie D. Jones leads us on a journey to where the “normal” and the paranormal intersect, where the known and unknown converge, where science greets the supernatural.

A longtime investigator of metaphysics and the paranormal, Jones reveals in layperson’s terms how the latest discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science may explain the existence of UFOs, ghosts, poltergeists, time anomalies, the Bermuda Triangle, energy vortices, and psychic abilities such as ESP and telekinesis. As paranormal researcher and author Nick Redfern said, “Jones takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride into the unknown. Daring to penetrate the shadowy realms that co-exist alongside our own world.”

She answers many fascinating questions:

● Are poltergeists energy fluctuations in the Zero-Point Field?

● Can the experience of déjà vu be explained by the quantum theory of parallel universes?

● Do thoughts have the energy to move physical objects?

● Is the Zero-Point Field the source of all creative energy?

● Can every human being experience the paranormal?

● Do UFOs use wormholes to traverse between universes?

● What are the parallels between ancient religions and modern quantum physics?

The author of Looking For God In All the Wrong Places as well as hundreds of published articles and essays, Jones is a New Thought/Metaphysics minister and counselor from San Diego (more on Jones at http://www.warwickassociates/PSIence).

PSIence brings today’s hottest topics together into one book, covering the paranormal, quantum physics and the new science of Consciousness studies in a style that is appealing and easy for everyone to comprehend. Simple sidebars and graphics explain complex concepts. And a touch of humor lightens the scientific material, resulting in a book as entertaining as it is educational.

Readers interested in mind-body subjects will enjoy the chapters on the role of perception and consciousness in paranormal activity, as well as the power of the mind and the ability of quan-tum physics to explain some of those powers. New Science fans will delve into the chapters on the Zero-Point Field and the current research into the potentially holographic brain and how it parallels the holographic universe theory.
