Day 2 Golden Circle Explore the fabulous highlights of the famed Golden Circle route. Start with a visit to one of the most magnificent waterfalls in all of Iceland, Gullfoss. Onwards to the erupting hot springs in Geysir area, before arriving at beautiful Þingvellir National Park. Here, the world’s oldest parliament was founded in the year 930AD and the European tectonic plates almost meet in a spectacular setting.

Day 3 Iceland’s beautiful SouthToday, choose between two great excursions.

Coastal Waterfalls and Black Sand Beaches: Visit picturesque Skógafoss waterfall, Reynisfjara’s famous black sand beach and basalt columns, plus take a walk behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall.OrSouth Coast & Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon: See Hvannadalshnjúkur, Iceland’s tallest mountain and the sprawling black sand desert up to Skaftafell National Park. Snæfellsnes Peninsula: explore this majestic area on Iceland’s west side. Stop at the small fishing villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, Djúpalónssandur beach and iconic Kirkjufell Mountain. OrLangjökull Glacier and Ice Cave: drive through historic Hvalfjörður (whale fjord) en route to Deildartunguhver, Europe’s highest-flowing hot spring (97°), visit Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. Day 1 Reykjavík ArrivalArrive Keflavík Airport and transfer to your hotel. Time at leisure.

Day 2 Reykjavík – Akureyri Leave Reykjavík and head west to Borgarnes, then climb the Grábrók volcano crater. Afternoon visits to a natural history and seal museum and the turf church of Víðimýri. Continue past fjords and mountain passes to Akureyri.

Day 3 Akureyri, Lake Mývatn and Geothermal BathsExplore Akureyri, including the botanic gardens, and enjoy panoramic views. Afternoon visits to Goðafoss, the waterfall of the Gods, the geological wonders and bird life of the Lake Mývatn area, the bizarre lava formations at Kálfaströnd and the Mývatn Nature Baths.

Day 4 Lava Labyrinth, Hot Springs and the East Morning hike in a lava labyrinth at Dimmuborgir, then visit the hot springs of Námaskarð, with bubbling mud pools and steaming solfataras. On through the uninhabited highlands to the east. From June to August visit Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall.

Day 5 Fjords, Glacier and Ice Today enjoy dramatic fjord landscapes and the many fishing villages of the East Fjords. Visit Petra's stone collection then Vatnajökull, Europe’s biggest glacier. On to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, with time at the national park.

Day 6 South Coast Across the Eldhraun lava fields and sandy deserts of the south coast – stroll along black lava beaches and visit Skógafoss waterfall. Learn about living next to an active volcano, then see lovely Seljalandsfoss waterfall.

Day 7 Icelandic Horses, Golden Circle and ReykjavíkStart with an introduction to the unique Icelandic horse and a visit to a geothermal greenhouse. On to the Geysir geothermal fields then Gullfoss, “the golden falls“, before going to Þingvellir National Park. Arrival in Reykjavík and a short city tour en route to your hotel.

Day 8 Reykjavík DepartureTransfer to Keflavík airport and end of arrangements.

Day 1 Reykjavík Arrival Arrive Keflavík Airport and transfer to your hotel. Time at leisure.

Day 2 Blue Lagoon and Reykjanes Peninsula Travel along Reykjanes peninsula and stop at the Blue Lagoon to bathe. Continue to the mud pots and hot springs in Krýsuvík, the beautiful wooden church in Strandarkirkja and the charming fishing village of Eyrarbakki with its Maritime and Folk Museum.

Day 3 Landmannalaugar and ÞjórsárdalurDrive to Landmannalaugar, an oasis in the barren highlands, surrounded by colourful rhyolite mountains, and bathe in a natural geothermal stream. Stop at Hjálparfoss waterfall, explore the Viking farm ruins at Stöng and take a leisurely hike to the green oasis of Gjáin, before reaching Þjórsárdalur.

Day 4 Golden Circle Travel to the 3 sites that form the Golden Circle – Gullfoss waterfall (Golden Falls), Geysir hot spring area and the ancient Viking Parliament area of Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5 Westman Islands In the morning a short ferry ride brings us to the Westman Islands, town of Heimaey. During our tour to the Westman Islands, we explore bird cliffs, walk up a volcano crater and visit "Pompeii of the North", a volcanic excavation project. We take ferry back to the mainland and continue to the village of Vík.

Day 6 Glacier Hike and Glacial Lagoon Start with an easy glacier hike in the majestic surroundings of Svínafellsjökull, then cruise on the blue waters of the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, filled with icebergs.

Day 7 South Coast and Reykjavík Stroll along the black lava beach at Reynisfjara. Travel to the lighthouse and bird cliffs at Dyrhólaey, visit Skógafoss waterfall, then return to Reykjavík for a short city tour.

Day 8 Reykjavík Departure Transfer to Keflavík airport and end of arrangements.

Day 4 Höfn and East FjordsFrom Höfn through Almannaskarð Pass, with

towering mountains plunging vertically into the sea of the magnificent East Fjords.

Day 5 Lake Mývatn AreaThrough the empty vastness of the highland desert plateau Möðrudalsöræfi to Lake Mývatn. Stop at Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall then on to Namaskard pass with its boiling mud pools and vibrant colours. Explore the natural beauty of the lake area, including the pseudo craters at Skutustadir and the Laxa Salmon River.

Day 6 Lake Mývatn Area, Akureyri and Siglufjörður Explore the lava formations at Dimmuborgir then stop at magnificent Goðafoss waterfall and the old turf farm, Laufás. On to Akureyri, with some of the finest timber buildings in the country, beautifully restored to their original glory. Travel along the Troll Peninsula past steep mountains with amazing views over the Arctic Sea and the black sand coastline, to Siglufjordur.

Day 7 Skagafjörður – BorgarnesVisit the award winning Herring Era Museum, then drive through mountains and narrow passes to Skagafjörður, for an introduction to the unique Icelandic horse. Continue to Blönduós village and across Holtavörðuheiði plateau to the beautiful town of Borgarnes.

Day 8 Borgarfjörður – Þingvellir – ReykjavíkVisit Deildartunguhver, the world’s most powerful hot spring, then Hraunfossar waterfall before continuing via Hvalfjörður fjord to Lake Þingvallavatn and Þingvellir NP. Return to Reykjavík for a short city sightseeing tour.

Day 4 Iceland’s Westernmost PointVisit the Folk and Transport Museum, Hnjótur, before continuing through a remote region to Látrabjarg. Walk to the top of Iceland’s highest bird cliff to see a variety and vast number of Nordic birds.

Day 5 West FjordsTravel over mountains, past scenic fjords to Arnarfjordur, surrounded by high mountains. See Dynjandi waterfall and continue along the southern West Fjords.

Day 6 Haukadalur – AkureyriVisit Haukadalur, a living Viking museum then head north, past valleys, lakes, the ocean and open landscapes. Stop at a local farm for lunch and learn about unique, Icelandic horses. Day ends in Akureyri.

Day 7 AkureyriIn Siglufjordur, on Tröllaskagi Peninsula, visit the Herring Museum. See small villages and remote valleys, then stop for beer-tasting at a local micro-brewery. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 8 Goðafoss and Lake MývatnVisit Goðafoss Falls then walk in Dimmuborgir lava field. After Hverfjall ash crater, explore Námaskarð and Krafla geothermal areas. This afternoon, relax in the waters of Mývatn Nature Baths.

Day 9 Secrets of the EastTravel to Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall, stop at Mödruðalur before continuing through uninhabited highlands to East Iceland to visit a traditional Icelandic fishing village and art gallery.

Day 10 Fjords, Glaciers and Icebergs Admire dramatic fjord landscapes along twisty, winding roads, en route to Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier. Past Höfn, stop for a boat ride among floating icebergs on Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon.

Prices: Prices are not guaranteed until full payment as cleared funds is received by Nordic Travel. All prices are in Australian Dollars. Nordic Travel reserves the right to adjust prices due to factors including but not limited to fuel costs, exchange rate fluctuations, taxes, airline surcharges, and other price rises beyond our control. Such adjustments may be made at any time prior to receipt by Nordic Travel of payment in full.

Entrance fees for attractions in Iceland: Some entry fees payable throughout Iceland for attractions including but not limited to natural and historic sites are only payable locally in Icelandic kroner and must therefore be paid by the traveller in cash at the time of entry to the said attraction. Final Payment: Final payments for most bookings made less than 60 days prior to the start of arrangements are due within 5 days of receipt of written confirmation from Nordic Travel. Certain travel arrangements require a different timetable for final payment of which you will be advised at the time of quotation and/or booking. For all bookings non-payment by due dates may mean full cancellation of arrangements, plus loss of all monies already paid.

Amendments: Should a change be requested by you after the booking has been confirmed, a charge of $100 per change, per person, will apply. Any other fees/charges imposed upon Nordic Travel by outside suppliers and third parties as a result of such a requested change will be added.

Cancellation by the Traveller: All cancellations must be made in writing and such notice is not effective until received by Nordic Travel. Notice must be sent during office hours only (Mon-Fri, 09:00hrs-17:00hrs, Sydney time, not being weekends or public holidays). If some or all portions of the booking are cancelled, fees will apply as follows: General arrangements: 90 days or more prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: Loss of whole of deposit 89–45 days prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: loss of 50 % of monies paid Less than 45 days prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: loss of 100% of monies paid. Christmas Arrangements: 90 days or more prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: Loss of whole of deposit 89 days or less prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: loss of 100% of monies paid. Faroe Islands Arrangements: 90 days or more prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: Loss of whole of deposit 89–45 days prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: loss of 60 % of monies paid Less than 45 days prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: loss of 100% of monies paid. Greenland Arrangements: 90 days or more prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: Loss of whole of deposit 89–45 days prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: loss of 70 % of monies paid Less than 45 days prior to the date of start of Nordic Travel arrangements: loss of 100% of monies paid.

If booked arrangements have already commenced, 100% of the cost is charged. There is no refund for unused services or if portions of the arrangements are missed by the traveller. Please note that additional Supplier and third party cancellation charges may also apply.

Cancellation or Amendments by Suppliers or in other circumstances: If we have to change your booking, or part of it, for reasons beyond our control, (including but not limited to if an airline changes its schedules, a natural disaster or political crisis occurs, a hotelier overbooks hotel accommodation, or an operator cancels a tour), we will notify you and we will endeavour to provide alternative arrangements of the same standard as that originally booked. If the change or changes result in the booking costing more, or otherwise being materially different from that contemplated prior to the change or changes being effected, and in respect of which we have already accepted a deposit or balance of payment, you have the right to ask for a re-arrangement and monies already paid will be refunded, less any charges levied by our suppliers or third parties. This excludes all taxes or fuel surcharges incurred by our supplier/s until tour/cruise commencement date.

Additional Charges: A charge will apply for the following services (including GST): Minimum Booking: $100 per person for bookings of less than $700 total. Late Booking: $100 per person for any booking made less than 7 days prior to departure from Australia. Document Re-issue Fee: $100 per person for any amendment made which necessitates re-issue of documents (This may be in addition to any other amendment fee charged by our suppliers and passed on to you).

Travel documentation: Travel documents are sent out approximately 4 weeks prior to the starting date of the arrangements. However some documents are only made available to Nordic Travel approximately 2 weeks prior to the starting date of those arrangements and accordingly can only be sent upon receipt. Documentation will not be sent until payment in full has been received.

Unused services: Once the traveller has left Australia a refund will not be given for any service or accommodation not used by the traveller due to late arrival, early departure, or by choice. This includes the failure of any transportation to operate as scheduled, or weather conditions being such that activities cannot take place.

Traveller Assistance: Should a problem occur with your arrangements just before you arrive (such as delayed arrival due to missed flights, illness etc) or once the arrangements have started, it is essential, particularly having regard to the differences in time zones between Australia and your destination, that you try and resolve any problems immediately, with the local provider. Your documentation will detail the emergency contact details for that provider/s. Many problems can be rectified on the spot if you are able to communicate your concerns. If you fail to take such steps locally any claim to compensation may be reduced or denied. If you have any unresolved complaint this must be sent to Nordic Travel in writing together with any supporting documentation, within 30 days of the date of the service. No claim made after this period will be considered.

Necessary Other Documentation: Passport and visa requirements are the travellers responsibility. Travellers are also responsible for all exit, entry, re-entry, health and other documents required by law, regulations, orders, demands or requirements of the countries visited, transited or returned to. Each person must carry a valid passport (with at least six months validity remaining, from the date of return date to Australia) at all times. Nordic Travel cannot accept responsibility for the traveller s failure to ensure that they have correct travel information. See www.dfat.gov.au and www.smartraveller.gov.au for further information.

Hotels: If a hotel nominated is unavailable at the time of booking, the booking will be made in an alternative hotel of equivalent standard. Prices are based on standard, lead in accommodation. The mention of hotel facilities such as gyms, pool, parking etc does not imply that use of such facilities is without cost to the traveller and such costs must be paid locally by the traveller.

Bedding Configuration: The term Double/Twin Room usually refers to a room with 2 single beds either pushed together for a Double Room or kept apart for a Twin Room. A Triple Room is a Double/Twin Room with an extra bed, usually being a sofa bed or rollaway bed, and accordingly may be cramped. Some hotels offer Triple Rooms only when the 3rd person is a child and Triple Rooms where offered are always subject to request.

Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that prior to booking with Nordic Travel, each traveller purchases comprehensive travel insurance.

Health and Immigration: Travellers should familiarise themselves with any health and/or visa requirements that may be applicable in the areas they intend visiting. See www.dfat.gov.au and www.smartraveller.gov.au.

Destination Passenger Enquiries: Nordic Travel makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including local government, local consular office and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. See www.dfat.gov.au.

Responsibility: The responsibility of Nordic Travel (Australia) Pty Ltd trading as Nordic Travel herein called ‘the company’ is strictly limited. Although the company is the principal and takes due care in choosing suppliers, it cannot control them and therefore cannot be responsible for their acts or omissions. All travel services are subject to conditions imposed by these suppliers, who may limit their liability by tariffs, contracts and international agreements. The company acts only as agents for the passengers regarding hotels and transportation, whether rail, motorcoach, private car, boat/ship, aircraft or any other conveyance, sightseeing and other services, and as such, assume no liability for injury, damage, disappointment, distress or frustration, whether physical or mental. Through the act of default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger or in result of acts of God, dangers incident to the sea, earthquakes or tremors, volcanic eruptions, fire, breakdown of 2 machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or de facto, wars (whether declared or not), hostilities, bombs, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, or from any cause beyond the Company control, or from any loss or damage resulting from improper passport, visa or other documents. Nor shall any carrier have to incur liability as a common carrier. The company can accept no responsibility for loss for additional expenses, due to schedule delay or changes, your failure to follow instructions, including but not limited to, check-in and check-out times and baggage handling. The right is reserved to accept or retain any person as a member of any tour, or to change or withdraw the tour as circumstances demand. The tour operator reserves the right to change or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with airline operating requirements. All rates are based on tariffs in effect at the time the tour was planned, and are subjected to change in the event of adjustment therein. The issuance of tickets and vouchers shall be deemed to be consent to the above conditions.

Brochure Content: Every effort has been made to ensure that the current brochure is accurate at the time of printing and Nordic Travel shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss caused by any inaccuracy. If for reasons beyond our control, and if we determine in the interest of safety and security or for operational reasons to change the package arrangements, modify or cancel scheduled services and/or accommodation, either in whole or in part we reserve the right to do so, and will endeavour to provide alternative arrangements of the same standard as that originally booked.

Weather Conditions and Natural Phenomena: We cannot guarantee the appearance or quality of weather conditions and natural phenomena described in the brochure, including but not limited to the Northern Lights, the Midnight Sun, snow, ice, waterfalls, geysers and thermal pools and no refund will be given to any traveller due to the non-appearance or quality of same.

Costs Not Included In Prices Shown: All items not marked as Inclusions. Also airfares unless otherwise stated, visa and passport costs, travel insurance, vaccination and medical expenses, excess baggage, airport departure taxes, local government taxes and charges such as bed tax and city tax, laundry, postage, phone calls, fax/email charges, beverages, all items of a personal nature.

Quotes including airfares: quotes including flights are based upon a certain package price class on flight – if this class has sold out the final price may be higher and will depend on the availability of other classes at the time of booking.

GST Provision: GST does not apply to air and land arrangements consumed overseas e.g. coach tours, hotel accommodation, car rental.

Invoice Errors or Omissions: Nordic Travel reserves the right to correct any errors in rates quoted or calculated for any service, notwithstanding that the invoice may have been paid in full. All confirmed bookings are issued with an invoice detailing the services booked. If any service is still on request this will be indicated on the invoice.
