What are Open Badges?
http://buff.ly/RwCae9 !
Overview Learning today happens everywhere. But it's often difficult to get recognition for skills and achievements that happen online or out of school. Mozilla Open Badges helps solve that problem, making it easy for any organization to issue, manage and display digital badges across the web.
What if we used badges for learning?
Not just digital badges but
Open Badges
Open Badges are images with metadata hard-coded into them
Visual representations of achievements, learning, skills,
interests, competencies
They can represent hard & soft skills, peer assessment, and stackable lifelong learning
Open Badges can capture learning wherever & however it occurs—allowing for innovation
How do we get there?
Through a shared badge ecosystem &
infrastructure: a universal standard.
