Baycations are BetterWhether you’re here for business or play, a week or a day, baycations are just better.
Breeze into KemahKemah is a Karankawa Indian word meaning “facing the wind,” an appropriate name for this city that enjoys the refreshing salty breeze off of Galveston Bay. Kemah is well known for its boardwalk—named one of the country’s best by CNN Traveler. Offering a year-round summer-festival vibe, Kemah Boardwalk is a feast for the senses, with heart-pounding amusement rides, waterfront dining from fine-dining to fast, and a host of shops that offer clothing, gifts and sweets. It’s a great way to spend a weekend or a week with friends and family.
Live it Up in League CityLeague City also has the third-largest boating anchorage in the U.S. thanks to the many on marinas at Clear Lake. There’s plenty of opportunities to rent kayaks, paddle boards, deck boats or wave runners at local aquatic-centric businesses. For those who prefer land, League City also has 620 acres of public parks for exploring. For some history, check out Butler Longhorn Museum, which is dedicated to telling the unique story of Milby Butler who played a crucial role in saving the iconic Texas longhorn cattle from extinction. The museum showcases a one-of-a-kind collection of western art and artifacts. You’ll find the treasures of League City Historic Shoppes, a collection of boutiques with everything from antiques and rare books to home and garden accents.

Come Play in Nassau BayThe family-oriented community enjoys a natural beauty that is seemingly far away from urban crowds. This is where you’ll find NASA Johnson Space Center and Space Center Houston. The center includes exhibits and tours of its artifacts and facilities, including the 30-story Saturn V at Rocket Park and the six story-tall complex Independence Plaza with a replica of the first shuttle carrier aircraft. The city is known for its parks so come prepared to get out and get active. Stop by the 76-acre Nassau Bay Peninsula Wildlife Reserve and don’t forget to bring along your binoculars. Chances are good you’ll be able to spy a resident osprey, roseate spoonbill, clapper rail, cormorant or snowy egret.
Enjoy Sun & Fun in SeabrookFrom pelicans to water to seafood, there’s so much to love about Seabrook. One of the first things you’ll notice when you visit, are the colorful pelicans scattered throughout the town (seabrookpelicans.com). Painted by local artists, they are whimsical additions to the city’s streets, homes and businesses. Be sure to snap a selfie with your favorites and share the love by using #SeabrookLove in your post.
If you love the water, you are sure to love Seabrook. Home to Seabrook Marina and the Lakewood Yacht Club, Seabrook offers a variety of boating excursions for you and your family. Love to fish? Pine Gully Park features a 1,000-foot saltwater fishing pier.
Main Street in Seabrook is also a popular fishing destination and is home to the Bay Area Veterans Memorial.
Love to eat? You’ll find fresh fish markets along Waterfront Drive plus a variety of seafood restaurants.
