How To Gain HOPE Scholarship
Student must be: Graduate with 3.0 required GPA
from: Eligible high school Ineligible high school, home school or
earned GED w/ SAT or ACT
Also, must be: Enrolled in degree-seeking program Meet academic rigor
Maintain 3.0 at checkpoints of 30, 60 and/or 90 attempted semester hours
How to gain Zell Miller Scholarship
Student must meet one: Graduate as valedictorian/salutatorian Graduate with 3.7 required GPA from:
Eligible high school & Earned 1200 (SAT) or 26 (ACT)
Graduated with 3.7 required GPA from: Home school & Earned 1200 (SAT) or 26 (ACT)
Also, must be: Enrolled in degree-seeking program Meet academic rigor
Maintain 3.3 at checkpoints of 30, 60 and/or 90 attempted semester hours
Differences in HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship

HERO Scholarship
Scholarship Program was created to provide financial aid to qualifying who are seeking a postsecondary education Georgia National Guard or United States Military Reservists, spouses, Dependent children
maximum amount awarded to an eligible student is $2,000 per Award Year
HERO Scholarship
Requirements Georgia resident Enrolled in an eligible post secondary institution Maintain Student Academic Progress (SAP) Selective Service Registration No defaulted loans No drug convictions Not incarcerated
HERO Scholarship
Must have completed one Qualifying Term of Service for:
Member of Georgia National Guard or US Military Reservist
Dependent of Georgia National Guard or US Military Reservist
Spouse of a deceased or 100% disabled Georgia National Guard or US Military Reservist
HERO Scholarship
Limitations: Maximum total award is up to $8,000
(equivalent to four (4) Award Years Eligibility terminates eight (8) years
after the date returning from combat zone
Must complete 181 cumulative days of service in a combat zone to qualify for one (1) Qualifying Term of Service
