FROM THE SCHOOL LEADERSHIP
TEAM
Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members, Our teaching staff will gather in two separate days this week to review the data from Term 1 and plan for next term. Year 3 to 6 teachers will work together tomorrow and Prep to Year 2 teachers will work together on Wednesday. This process is part of a suite of resources designed to build the collective capacity of staff to improve the impact on student learning. Working together collaboratively helps us to enhance the learning culture of our school and provide consistency across the year levels. I extend my thanks to Sue Maclean for her work in facilitating and coordinating these data review days. Holy Week Christians set apart an entire week - Holy Week - to recall the events surrounding the suffering, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus. This liturgical season leading up to Easter is a significant one, full of ritual and symbolism. We will hold liturgies for the significant events of this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 2.00pm. Thank you to the staff and students for preparing these liturgies for our reflection. You are most welcome to join us. Thanks for Term 1
I extend my thanks to all in our St Rita's community for the support you have given each other, our students, families and staff this term. Thank You! I wish Fr Joseph all the best as he leads a tour of the Holy Lands in April, best wishes to him and the tour group for a safe and successful trip. Students will return for Term 2 on Tuesday 17 April. Monday 16 is a Pupil Free Day for the Commonwealth Games.
Easter Blessing May the celebration of resurrected life bring new hope to
your being. May the victory over earthly death turn your eyes to the
promises of heaven. May the empty tomb help you to leave your sorrows at the
foot of the cross. So that God's hope, promises and forgiveness reign in your
life forever. Amen
All the best for a happy and relaxing holiday period. Happy Easter.
FROM APA Thanks For a Good Term 1 It doesn't seem that long ago that we were welcoming you all to the new school year and now we find ourselves at the end of our first term. I'd like to that you all for a very positive and productive Term 1. We have ridden the highs and lows that are part of any school term and we've shared some really great events and opportunities. Thank you for your support and feedback along the way. Easter Blessings I look forward to attending and participating in our Holy Week prayer reflections this week. I wish you and yours every blessing for this holy Easter season and hope you all enjoy some very special family time over the break. Brian

Why Hot Cross Buns at Easter? Hot Cross Buns. The familiar hot cross buns are sweet rolls with the sign of the cross cut into it, and they are one of several traditional European breads marked with a cross for Good Friday. According to tradition, these buns originated at St Alban's Abbey in 1361, where the monks gave them to the poor people who came there. (You may have your own recipe for sweet-rolls to which you can add currants or raisins before shaping and cut a cross in the top before baking; or you can buy them.) These Good Friday buns were very popular, and were sold by vendors who cried, Hot cross buns, Hot cross buns! One a-penny two a-penny, Hot cross buns! If you have no daughters, give 'em to your sons! One a-penny two a-penny, Hot cross buns!
