I cannot believe that we have owned The Village Quilter for nearly a year. As I sit in the office, writing this letter, I can’t help but think how far the shop has come in just one year. Do you remember how open and airy the shop felt? We are now stuffed to the gills with fabric and expecting more in almost daily! Our class list is almost as full as the shop, offering modern takes on traditional blocks and even offering a few old favorites. We have added the much awaited t-shirt quilt to our spring offerings and we are pleased to offer another Mystery Quilt class to the schedule. Let Them Eat Cake is back again for a repeat visit, you are gonna love it and we are anticipating a few new blocks of the month. I am anxious to offer a Thangles Buck a Block and perhaps this time I will actually finish the quilt! Row by Row begins on June 21st. Our license plate is ordered as well as the 2017 charms and charm holder pins. The theme this year is Row by Row On the Go! Hopefully our row will be as popular as last years row. Incoming fabrics include more novelties including “ball” fabrics for the sports-minded person on your quilt gift list. We also have the remainder of Kaffe Fassett’s Artisan line in the Sunny version on order as well as some new fabrics from his spring release. We have sewn pillowcases for Jamie’s Cases for Smiles, and quilts for Project Linus. We are happy to provide pillowcase kits to any quilters interested in sewing more and we will have a Quilt-In for Project Linus scheduled in the next couple of months. We are a drop off site for Distributing Dignity which provides new bras and sanitary products for women who find themselves in homeless of in shelters. We hosted a placemat sew-in for Meals on Wheels and will continue to be a drop-off site for that charity. Most importantly, to me, we have become a community. We have opened up the shop to you and in turn, you have made us your home away from home. I am grateful for the kindness and support you have shown us during this past year. Dear Villagers!
