Location, location, location INK WASH Draw outdoors from a unique location and compose two finished pieces utilizing ink wash.

In class after returning from Spring Break (Ink wash on white paper)

Life drawing outdoors with ink wash.

Assignment

Develop two drawings of an environment or landscape.

One representational and the other utilizing techniques of abstraction of planes and form.

Both DUE for Crit on April 18th (M/W) and 19th (T/R).

Materials

Ink Wash (India ink)

White drawing paper

Watercolor Paper – experiment with hot and cold press (smooth vs. rough)

Experiment with tonal and linear application of the media.

Deal with: Form and composition, additive and subtractive application of ink and wash, linear perspective, aerial perspective,

distorting perspective, gesture, overlapping, scribbling, line weight, texture, mark making, line quality and a variety of light

and dark values.
