Pop-art emerges in Britain in

the mid 1950s, but finds its

full realisation in New York in

the early 1960s, as a ground-

breaking artistic movement that

has a decisive influence on daily

life, design, communication.

Media and advertising take

the lion’s share of this art that

draws on the most popular

communication forms: comics,

ads, objects for everyday use

and, often, portraits of celebrities.

The exponent par excellence of

this artistic movement is Andy

Warhol, into fashion since the

early 1950s, having started his

career working as an illustrator

In the collective imagination, the notion

of romantic femininity has always been

associated with floral prints and motifs.

Over the years, however, fashion-

system designers have moved away

from this mental scheme, reinterpreting

the theme from different perspectives.

In the early 1990s, light viscose dresses

with floral prints were combined with

heavy Dr. Martens boots or worn

with oversize coats from the male

collection to take on new meanings and

Born in 1964 in Piedmont, in Crodo, a town in the Antigorio

Valley, north of Domodossola, from which it took its name,

it was created by Crodo, a company by the same name that

bottled water from the Liesel spring.

It is made with water from the local spring and a blend of various
