ArtCourses“For the Love of Color & Dance” Oil PaintingInstructor: Katie Sandberg, Creative Chaos StudioThis course is an introduction to painting with oils with an overview of observing value and color, color mixing, composition, and students will practice different techniques throughout this project. Katie will walk you through the entire process so you will leave with a completed 16” x 20” canvas print. Please bring paints (titanium white, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, phthalo blue, burnt sienna, burnt umber & yellow ochre), odorless thinners or low odor mineral spirits, 16 x 20 stretched canvas, basic oil brush starter set (stiffer bristled flat, SM and L, 1”soft bristled brush flat, pallet knife (set of three) in either plastic or metal to include knife, and spade head, a paint pallet or long box covered in tinfoil to transport painting home, small jars with lids (baby food jars work great) for thinners, paper towels and newspapers. Come dressed to paint bring an apron if desired. All ages welcome. Limit 12. Class Fee $32

Sisters Cari & Cally will teach you how to design backgrounds using textures and layering styles on canvases and other surfaces. You will learn new art techniques and take home your own personalized 11” x 14” artwork. If you have artist paint brushes and scissors, please bring them to class.
