Brrrr come explore with me in the artic were we will learn about artic foxes! I am going to tell you were they live , there adaptations/ what they look like, what they eat, how they have babies , and lastly a few fun facts!

Introduction

Where artic foxes live!Now were there first I am going to tell you where artic foxes live. Artic foxes live in the north pole where there is lots of snow and ice. Did you know that an artic fox has the thickest fur in nature it can still live if it is negtive 100.the artic fox lives in a den the den most be on a mound so its habbitat can stay dry. In the summer the artic fox lives in a tundra at the edge of a forest .well that’s all I have about were artic foxes live .

Adaptations Come on now we are going to go get a

closer look of there adaptations /what they look like wow look at that adult artic fox it is about 43 in. long and weighs up to 6 to 10 pounds.anothor adaptation that a artic fox has is in the winter artic foxes grow white fur to match the snow in the snowy world he is hard to see in the summer when the snow melts he sheds his warm white fur and grows a coler summer coat of brown or tan know he is hard to see on rocky land. An artic fox has sharp teeth and claws to catch food also an artic fox has short legs, and nose, thick fur, and small ears to keep warm artic foxes look like dogs but with short rounded ears

What they eat

Oh look at that artic fox it is eating lemmings now I am going to tell you what artic foxes eat artic foxes love lemmings they also like small birds called ptarmigan ,fish,deer,and lastly seal pups. Guess what artic foxes are camnouvores. Comnouvores are when an animal only eats meat

How they have babies • Know lets go explore how artic

foxes have babies in February/march the vixen (female) and a dog fox (male) mate and in a couple of days before her pups are due the vixen goes to the den and 52 days later she has mated vixen gives birth! Did you know that pups are born blind after 16 days the pups open there eyes and they can finely see. A mother artic fox has up to 6-12 pups at one time when artic foxes are about 6 mounts old they leave there parents and by next spring they have a family of there own.

Fun facts

• Don’t leave now I have a few fun facts! the color of an artic foxes skin is made from a grain called melanin. Guess what artic foxes are a member of a the dog family this is my last one some people have tried to kill all the white foxes to make more room for blue foxes!
