Introducing the EVAC range - Portable vacuum units

The EVAC is the newest addition to the extensive range of products Vacuum Truck Supplies

has to offer to our customers. This unit is light, compact, portable and made entirely of stainless steel.

Its creation came from the market needing a smaller capacity vacuum unit that is priced for anyone

to afford not just for companies working in the liquid waste industry.

The EVAC range currently consists of an 800 litre, 1600 litre and a 3200 litre unit. The EVAC

800 (eight hundred) is available in a 5.5 HP Honda petrol powered 70 CFM vacuum pump package.

The EVAC 1600 (sixteen hundred) is available in the petrol and also a 6 HP Yanmar diesel powered 70

CFM vacuum pump package. The EVAC 3200 (thirty two hundred) comes equip with a slightly bigger

package, a 10 HP Yanmar diesel powered 115 CFM vacuum pump, the 3200 is not available as petrol

powered. These quality packages have been imported from the United States by ourselves. All the

vacuum pumps supplied with the units are rotary vane type which use oil as lubrication. On the

exhaust side of the pump an oil catch muffler is fitted to trap any oil before the air enters the

atmosphere again.

The units have a water tank capacity of 300Lt, 600Lt and 1200Lt respectively, the tank has a

sight tube fitted to determine the level in the tank. Each unit comes with a 12 V electric water pump,

connected to the water tanks to provide clean water for washing out purposes or filling portable toilet

tanks. On the rear of the unit is a hook fitted with 15m of garden hose, with a nozzle that can be turned

on or off. The water pump has a bypass internally fitted to avoid damage to the pump if it is on and

the nozzle closed.

Ten metres of two inch suction hose loops around the rear of the unit with a three inch inlet

port to the tank, fitted with a tee to allow the other side to be used as a blockage removal port which

is fitted with a camlock for quick access. The inlet side of the suction hose is fitted with a two inch ball

valve. The tank can be emptied via a three inch ball valve at the rear lowest point of the tank on the

800 and 1600 units, and via a four inch ball valve on the 3200 unit.

The unit can be washed out via an access point on the side of the tank, this access is 250mm

in diameter with a quick opening lid consisting of two wingnut and eyebolts. The 3200Lt unit is

equipped with two of these access points to allow each section of the longer barrel to be washed out.

Three sight glasses are located on the rear of each unit allowing the operator determine the

level of liquid waste in the tank. These are located at the half way point, three quarter point and full

point of the barrel.

The shut off system consists of two inline shut off devices with rubber balls. The primary shut

off is located on top of the tank, this being the first line of defence against product contamination, the

secondary shut off is located on the front face of the tank, this shuts off if product bypasses the

primary when it is not functioning correctly. The secondary shut off is fitted with a drain ball valve if

product is to bypass. Fitted on the back port of the primary shut off is a vacuum relief valve set at

negative 65 kPa and a pressure relief valve. On the top port of primary shut off is a vacuum gauge.

All units have an adequate amount of tie down points for the units to be fitted securely to

either a flat bed or a dual axle trailer. The units can be moved easily using a forklift, with the EVAC 800

and 1600 having forklift access points on all four sides and the EVAC 3200 having access on two sides.

The EVAC range will continually be developed over the year to come. Our plan is to introduce

further units to the range, with a lighter unit constructed of aluminium, as well as a 2000Lt low

clearance unit being under 1.5m including all fittings and a 1000Lt unit being under 1.3m.

Not only can the EVAC be used in the portable toilet waste industry but it has been designed

for use in a wide range of different industries, some we are yet to even come across. Recently we have

sent EVAC’s to Papua New Guinea to suck up spills in a Palm Oil factory, with another unit going to be

of assistance in the Feedlot industry efficiently cleaning out troughs in a quarter of the time it used to

take someone manually. The small 800Lt unit has also been effective in helping a construction

company in removing paint liquid waste from construction sites, in the suburbs of Melbourne.
