Days for Girls – June 2018

Trinity’s UMW is continuing our effort to help Days for Girls

with their mission to provide high quality, washable feminine

hygiene kits as well as sanitation and health training to girls

who miss school for lack of these materials. There is a basket in

the parlor labeled Days for Girls. In June we will be revisiting

some items that are needed. We will be collecting Ziploc brand

gallon freezer brand bags with no slides and 5/8 inch grosgrain

ribbon in dark colors. Our participation, along with others

nationwide, makes the program possible.

You are truly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your generosity.

During July, the grocery cart parked near the sanctuary

doors could especially use the following items: Spaghetti/

pasta sauces, spaghetti noodles, gluten free items, diapers.

Please, no glass containers, home canned foods or items

from bulk food bins! All items will be delivered to Regional

Council for Christian Ministry for our missions: The

Community Food Basket and the Soup Kitchen, and FISH.

Thank you for sharing your good fortune.

Thank you for opening your homes for the

visiting bell choir: Ruth Marsh and David

Armstrong, Kathy and Mark Borland, Nancy

and Robin Stewart, Nancy Smith, Marilyn and

Don Taylor, and Sharen and John Trickey.

Demolition Day On Friday June 22 at 9 am we are having a fence removal party at the parsonage. This is to get ready for the installation of the new vinyl fence on July 11th. (We are preserving the wood for reuse.)

Please bring your gloves, hammer and flat crowbar if you have one. Most of the work will be pulling nails and carrying light boards.

Lunch will be provided. (Hamburgers, chips soda and lots of ice water. Want to help with that?) Bring anything else you would like to have.

Kids Time - We will continue to have activities and lessons for the children during Sum-

mer worship services. Activity Bags will also be available for the children and the Nurse-

ry will be available for children 5 years and under. Help will be needed occasionally as I

will be out of town some Sundays. Please volunteer to assist.

Acolytes, Readers and Sound Room Techs – We want the children and youth to assist

each Sunday in this area as needed. We will try to schedule participants each week, but

please volunteer to assist if you are attending worship and help is needed.

Special Theme “We are Christ’s Hands” We will start a special project beginning with

Pentecost Sunday – May 20 and continuing through the summer and fall. Hand prints of

various sizes and colors will be available for everyone of all ages. You are invited to take

one and write your name on it and share how you are using your hands, hearts and minds

to share the words of Jesus as he left this earth and asked his disciples to begin his work.

You can create more than one hand print as we go through this time. We will make ban-

ners with the hands that are created. The materials and supplies will be available at the

back of the church.

Vacation Bible School – July 30-Aug. 2 – this will again be a 4 day program for all chil-

dren and youth. The theme will be connected to the all church theme “We are Christ’s

Hands” as we sing, play, explore, create, help others during this special time. Volunteers

of adults and youth and various supplies, food and talents will be needed. Everyone can

get involved and have FUN!!!

Fill up that shopping Cart!

During June, the grocery cart parked near the sanctuary doors could especially use the following items: canned vegetables (green beans, carrots, tomatoes and corn), any kind of canned condensed soup, canned meats (tuna, chicken, salmon, Spam), and toothpaste. Please, no glass containers, home canned foods or items from bulk food bins! All items will be delivered to Regional Council for Christian Ministry for our missions: The Community Food Basket and the Soup Kitchen, and FISH.

Thank you for sharing your good fortune.
