My aim is to set up an artist in residence programme in my cabin for artists, writers and musicians.

Nurture them so that they only need focus on their art. Cook, organise dinners with interesting on-island people, take them out on the river in my boat or on the Riverboat Postman, give them space and time alone.

Start with weekends and then week options (when I don’t have my boys).

How to monetarise this? Cost - pay what you think it is worth. Accomodation for up to two people and families by arrangement. A bit like a bed and breakfast.

When they leave they leave a little bit of themselves behind - an artwork, a sculpture, a song, etc.

Sort out a rough programme:

- Arrival Dinner on the first evening. Meet people from the community, introduction to the island.

- Free time during the day, debrief and meals at night, with and without guests. Writers would have the opportunity to workshop writing with the Dangar Island Writer’s Group. Take them out on the river in my boat, to the Tanks and other river landmarks.

- Options include: The Riverboat Postman, Jo Cameron Massage, Ian Cameron Palm Reading, Sofan Angel Drawing. These are paid optional extras.

- Departure - dinner, farewell, gifting of artworks.

Advertise: initially by word of mouth and through the gallery/bookshop affiliations. I would like it to be by referral and fairly exclusive. I would create a tumblr blog to document the artists and a card to give to people I would like to have visit. There would be an interview process and bookings taken.

I would collect images, photographs of the artists at work and play as part of a documentation process. Release forms. Sound bytes. All to be used on a tumblr blog to document the experiences. Perhaps it would be a private blog and the password would have to be gifted to selected artists. It could be printed on the cards but changed regularly. Perhaps a stamp of numbers that I use as the code to enter.

Every year I would create an e-book to showcase the words and art that was created. Sound and music as well. Something secret but lovely. Something that can start simple but grow. Personal comments entered in a visitor’s book.

Each year an annual exhibition would be put on at one of the three galleries and the bookshop with sound, music, artworks and words.
