MAJOR ARTISTIC EVENTS OF THE PERIOD 1989 - 2015
1989 - Georg Baselitz realized '45 - One of the most
original and challenging works of the artist's "middle
period" of the artist Georg Baselitz is the 20-panelled
spectacle entitled '45. It alludes to the end of the second
world war and what in Germany came to be known as
Stunde Null (Zero Hour), when, at midnight on May 8
1945, the Nazi government capitulated. The work is like a
huge, late medieval German altarpiece.
1990 - Damien Hirst realized "A Thousand Years" - ‘A
Thousand Years’ and ‘A Hundred Years’ were first
exhibited at the warehouse show ‘Gambler’, in 1990. ‘A
Thousand Years’ is acknowledged by the artist to be one of
the most important of his career
1992 - Pierre Soulages won the " "Praemium Imperiale"
for painting - Pierre Soulages is a French painter,
engraver, and sculptor. In 2014 François Hollande
described him as "the world's greatest living artist".
1998 - Emanuele Luszzati realized a baby park -
Emanuele Luzzati realized in Santa Margherita Ligure
(GE), together with Emanuele Conte, a baby park inspired
by the Magic Flaut by Mozart and Jean Dubuffet works.
2010 - Artemide and Callisto - The Italian painter Enrico
Gherardi realized a painting called "Artemide and
Callisto".
2015 - Jean Jullien Creates a Symbol of Peace for Paris
after Deadly Attacks - After devastating human tragedy
and more than 130 lives lost in the terrorists attack on Paris
in November the French artist Jean Jullien drew a symbol:
the Eiffel tower circled and turned into a peace sign took
over the Internet world, accompanied by the Peace For
Paris message, as an emblem of support for the people in
France.
