Introduction
The Arts Council values festivals as a means to:
develop a vibrant and sustainable arts profile at a local level
offer opportunities to present new work and new ways of working that can have far reaching effects for artists and audiences

Midsummer, Dublin Fringe, Earagail, Eigse, Carlow, Clonmel Junction and Clifden
Festivals & Events Scheme (ex SFS)◦ 850k approx◦ Supported 158 Festivals and events in 2012◦ Three strands (>9,999; 10 – 20k; up to 40k◦ Two rounds

FES is keen to support festivals where the infrastructure is underdeveloped
