2 Arts4All Florida-Palm Beach County • Promoting the creative power in people of all abilities

Gabrielle Paczynski And FamilyHow did you first get involved with Arts4All Florida-Palm Beach County? Gabrielle danced with Southern Dance for the first time at the Arts4All Florida-Palm Beach County Showcase. We stayed for refreshments and learned of all the incredible classes and signed up.

What programs have you participated in? Literary Arts, Beatbusters, Spotlighters, jewelry making, improv, as well as one day “Art Pop” creative classes, cultural trips to the art museum and the theater.

What is your favorite program? Gabby says all of them, but loves dancing, painting, being on stage and going to the theater best! Honestly even for us, as parents, it’s difficult to choose.

Why do you like coming to Arts4All Florida programs?Get to learn new things, do fun things and make new friends.

What sets Arts4All Florida apart from other organizations? The diversity and affordability of programs. The kind instructors who are passionate about what they do.

What would you like to see offered in the future? I would love to see a life skills class on handling and managing money.

What positive changes have you seen in Gabrielle since starting programs? Keeping Gabrielle continually, mentally occupied is challenging to say the least. Arts4All has facilitated a further awakening in Gabrielle, she is more active, more verbal, more engaged in almost all areas. This is a direct result of the Arts4All programs, they engage the brain and Gabrielle is living proof!

Gabby is all smiles on stage for her first performance with Community Theatre.

and Pretty Things class.

Community TheatreCommunity Theatre continues to be a sought after program for our teen and adult participants. This unique program is taught by two multi-talented local theatre professionals, Kat Kenny and Nathan Stubbs. This power team brings an original script and a lot of skills training to their classes. Participants learn vocal warm ups, stretches, and on-stage skills such as stage directions, voice projection, and audience awareness. The instructors identify the strengths of the participants through in-class auditions and grant the roles based upon abilities and interests. Community Theatre teaches participants how to work together as an ensemble in a positive and constructive way in order to achieve the goal of performing their play.

In the summer of 2019, the Community Theatre Ensemble kept the audience laughing at the Celebration of the Arts. “Couch Potato”, an original play written by Kat Kenny and Nathan Stubbs was a hit with the audience. Actors rose to the challenge of this performance. As this play was a spoof on multiple TV commercials, actors were extremely versatile and kept focus

on when they were to be on and off stage. Additionally, actors became familiar with

Dance Dance DanceOur dance residency with Forest Hill Elementary School is one of several school-based performing arts programs held throughout the year. New instructor, Kali DeCarlo meets with five self-contained Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) units once a week for 30 minutes each. Select students in grades 3-5 are chosen to perform at the Arts4All Florida-Palm Beach County Showcase in December and always put on a show-stopping performance. This dance residency gives students the opportunity to explore the art of dance and movement and to be a part of the creative process.

This past fall, 9 students were chosen to perform at the Showcase entitled, “Lean on Me”. Ms. Kali choreographed a dance to go along with the song “You Will Be Found” from the musical, Dear Evan Hansen. The song tied into our theme by sharing the message of being kind and helping out those around you. Every week, students practiced diligently with Ms. Kali and encouraged one another to give their best effort. Everyone was excited for show day, especially getting to wear costumes and dance alongside students from Bak Middle School of the Arts. We would like to thank Forest Hill Elementary School faculty and staff for providing on-going support for this program and for helping to make the event a very memorable day for the students and their proud parents and families. Learning about themselves, taking changes, having a growth mindset, trying new things and having fun are just some of the benefits of the dance residency for our very wonderful and special students.

“Lean On Me” The Arts4All Florida-Palm Beach County Showcase is a fun, entertaining, and heartwarming inclusive community event where children, teens, and adults have the opportunity to “showcase” their talents on a professional stage. On December 7, 2019, a variety of performing arts from Palm Beach County took to the stage at the Duncan Theatre @ Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth. Hosted by the wonderful, Alan Billingsley, the Showcase featured nine different performances this year! Performers included: The A4AFL-PBC SpotLighters, A4AFL-PBC Dance Residency with Forest Hill Elementary School and Bak MSOA, pianist Brian Chen, A4AFL-PBC’s Jazz it Up Group, A4AFL-PBC’s Dance Residency with Palm Beach Central High School, Southern Dance Theatre’s Special Arts Ensemble and vocal soloists: Devin Masteron, Sarah Evans, and Jarel Londy.

An exhibit of A4AFL-PBC visual artwork was hung in the lobby at the Duncan Theatre. This artwork was created during the year in various A4AFL-PBC visual arts programs. The exhibit was on display for public viewing for 2 weeks following the Showcase.

Arts4All Florida-Palm Beach County would like to thank everyone who worked behind the scenes of “Lean on Me” to make our show a success:
