    1. Subjects included in the Artworks Studio Clipart Installation

    The following installation will load Apparel, Apparel Construction Details, Automotive, Body Figures, Footwear,

    Furnishings, Intimate Apparel, Intimate Apparel Components, and Store Fixture files to the designated folder

    where Artworks Studio is installed. If the system doesnt have Artworks Studio installed, it will give a prompt to ask

    to choose a directory. In this case, the path to the directory should be noted for later installation

    procedure(see page 6 of this guide).

    X:\Program Files\Gerber Technology\Artworks Studio\Artworks Studio Clipart

    (X is the drive where Artworks Studio is installed.)

    The Collections (*.ecf) and subjects (*.sbj) will be loaded to the same directories.

    Each collection includes the subjects as follows:

    Collections Subjects

    Apparel Blouses, Childrens, Coats, Dresses, Jackets, Jump Suits, Leotards, Pants,

    Shirts, Shorts, Skirts, Suits, Sweaters, T-shirts, Vests

    Apparel Construction Details Accessories, Armholes, Bodice-Back, Bodice-Front, Care Label, Closures,

    Collars, Cuffs, Decorative Items, Design Elements, Facings, Hoods,

    Necklines, Pockets, Seams, Sleeves, Stitches, Straps, Waistbands, Yokes

    Automotive Car Seats

    Body Figures Children, Female, Male

    Footwear Accessories, Hiking Boots, Loafers, Pumps, Sandals, Sneakers, Soles,

    2. Installing iGrafx Designer

    Artworks Studio Clipart should be installed after iGrafx Designer. If the system is not installed with iGrafxDesigner, follow the steps below to install iGrafx Designer.

    1. Insert iGrafx Designer Standalone Application CD in the CD ROM Drive

    2. Select Start/Run3. Type x:\setup (where x is the drive letter of CD ROM Drive) and press Enter

    4. Select Next

    5. Agree to the licensing with YES

    6. Type your name and company name, then Next

    7. Choose Destination Location

    If installing locally, select Next to keep the default drive and directory

    8. Select the Installation type:

    Custom:

    choose

    Designer

    Share Media

    Share Viewer

    Import/Export Filter

    9. Select Next

    10. Select OK

    iGrafx Designer Installation is complete

    Reboot your system.

    3. Installing Artworks Studio Clipart (Locally)

    1. Insert the Artworks Studio Clipart CD in the CD Rom drive

    2. Select Start/Run Type x:\setup (where x is the drive letter of CD ROM Drive) and press Enter

    3. Select Next

    4. Agree to the licensing with Yes

    5. Destination folder is shown, hit Next

    6. Installation is complete. Hit Finish

    Important!If the system doesnt have Artworks Studio installed, it will give a prompt to ask to choose a directory. In thiscase, the path to the directory should be noted for later installation procedure.(see page 6 of this guide).

    4. Loading the Artworks Studio Clipart Collections to iGrafx Designer

    Once the files are available on the system, the desired collections must be loaded in Designer

    1. Select Start/ Programs/iGrafx/ Designer

    2. Select Insert/Clipart. iGrafx sharemedia opens.

    3. On the Tools menu of iGrafx Share

    Media, point to Advanced and click

    Manage Media

    Manage Media dialog box opens.

    4. Select File/Load Collection

    A browse dialog box opens.

    5. Look in X:\Program Files\Gerber

    Technology\Artworks

    Studio\Artworks Studio Clipart

    (X is the drive where Artworks

    Studio and Clipart are installed.)

    If the directory has been manually

    chosen to install Clipart,

    look in the path

    to find Artworks Studio Clipart.

    (see page 4 of this guide)

    6. Select the Collections to load

    The 9 collections will display in

    the bottom of the window of the

    load collection dialog.

    7. Hit Load to add the collections to

    the Public Media Collections

    Important!

    The following features are available for the loaded Artworks Studio Clipart :1. drag/drop, edit, create/add object within any subject/collection.2. add new subject to any existing collection.3. delete and rename existing Collection/Subject/Object.

    However, it is strongly recommended forthe user to create their own clipart in Private media collection,because any change made to the loaded Artworks Studio Clipart will be deleted upon uninstallation clipart.Refer to the iGrafx Designer Training Guide Supplement for instructions on creating a clipart library

    Important! Loading Artworks Studio Clipart to Designer 7.0

    Install Artworks Studio Clipart CD. (Refer to page 4 of this installation guide)1. Open Designer 7.02. Go to Tools > Clipart or click on the clipart icon.3. Go to Option > Subject4. Go to File > Load Collection5. Look in D:\Program File\Gerber Technology\Artworks Studio\Artworks Studio Clipart

    (D is the drive where Artworks Studio is installed) Note: If the system was not installed with ArtworksStudio, make a note where the Clipart is installed and put that directory in the Look-In dialog box.

    6. Nine collections appears in the bottom box7. Select one and hit Load

    (Repeat step 7 for each collection to be loaded)

    6. Select Add (the path to the folder has been added to the Public media folders), hit Close/OK

    The collections will be added to the Public

    Media Collection and are Read-Only.

    The user can drag & drop and edit the

    objects, but can not put the new or revised

    items back to the collections.

    However, the user can create their own

    collections and subjects underPrivate

    media collection.

    Refer to the iGrafx Designer Training Guide

    Supplement for instructions on creating a

    new clipart library.

    Important!

    The network clipart will not be uninstalled by doing uninstall clipart in add/remove programs on eachlocal workstation. The system administrator or advanced user may delete Artworks Studio Cliparton the network to uninstall clipart completely (which will uninstall clipart for all workstations).

    6. Updating Clipart on the Network (3 big steps)

    Updating Clipart for each workstation can be done on administrators workstation while no workstation has

    Clipart opened.

    A. Remove the existing network clipart from Public Media Collections

    1. Open iGrafx Designer

    2. Insert/Clipart

    3. Tools/Options

    4. Select Public Media Tab

    5. Select the network location of Artworks

    Studio Clipart from public media folders and

    Remove

    B. Update .DSF files, .ECF and .SBJ files on the network

    continued...from Steps in A.

    6. Select Folder Tab

    7. Select the location where Artworks Studio Clipart (i.e. P:\Artworks Studio Clipart ) is for"Create

    my graphics in this folder:"

    8. Select the location where Artworks Studio Clipart (i.e. P:\Artworks Studio Clipart ) is for"Store

    CD-ROM and Network Cache in this folder:"

    9. Hit OK/Close (now the collections to be updated are located on the Private Media collection)

    10. Open /Edit .DSF files that are used for the collection(s)

    Open a file Edit object Name object

    11. Save/Close the files.

    12. Select each subject in Private Media Collections whose thumbnails need updating

    13. Select all objects in the subject and right Click

    /Delete

    14. Move the cursor in the area of thumbnails,

    right click/ Add files

    15. Select files that need to be added to the

    subject, then Add

    16. Select Add each Symbol

    Important!:

    Each object in the files should be grouped and named uniquely.

    Keep all revised files within the existing location on the network.

    *Creating/Deleting collection(s) or subject(s) may take place at this point.

    17. Repeat steps 15-19 until all the

    thumbnails are updated

    18. Close Clipart

    19. Restart Designer

    C. Put Network Clipart Collections back to Public Media Collections

    continued... from Steps in B.

    20. Insert/Clipart

    22. Select C:\Windows or Winnt\Profiles\Username for"Create my graphics in this folder:"

    23. Select C:\Windows or Winnt\Profiles\Username for"Store CD-ROM and Network Cache in this

    folder:"

    24. Hit OK

    25. Select Public Media Tab

    26. Select the location of Artworks Studio Clipart (i.e. P:\ )

    27. Add (the path to the folder has been added to the Public media folders)

    28. Hit OK to add the collections to the Public Media Collections

    Important!Keeping the network collections in the Public Media Collections even on Admins workstation isrecommended, otherwise any revision made by admin will update clipart for all other workstationwithout updating thumbnails.To do so, follow steps below. If the network clipart collections dont appear in Private MediaCollections, skip steps 20-24 to 25 and follow the rest.

    7. Selecting a Clipart Object

    Select a subject name (Ex: Garment Display) and hit OK

    8. Placing Graphics on the Page

    Drag the desired graphic of the clipart window and position it on the Designer drawing area.

    Refer to the iGrafx Designer Training Guide Supplement for instructions on creating a clipart library.

    9. Ungrouping a Grouped Object

    Some objects in Apparel collection may include the back view of the item grouped with the front.

    1. Select the object, select Arrange/Ungroup or hit Shift+F5 (short cut)

    1. Unselect the object and select the front view object to move.
