Tera,As per our conversation last evening, I am sending you the concerns I have about the Group 2 seed tree treatment impact on the Pee Wee Trail system viewscape.

It is hard for me to ascertain where, exactly, Group 2 sits, using Google Earth, and the provided maps. The following images represent my best guess.

Figure 1 Looking towards Group 2 from the Pee Wee Ridge trail

A short ways up from FS1314 on the Pee Wee trail, you climb this ridge with territorial views to the north, west, and east.

Figure 2 Pee Wee Ridge viewpoint and estimated position of Group 2

My best guess puts Group 2 Just to the west of this branch of the Steep creek trail. If this is the case, much of the Group 2 Seed tree treatment would be visible from the trail. Because of the steepness of this terrain, I imagine cable logging would be used, creating highly visible scars.

If, in fact, Group 2 lies entirely north of this ridge, I don’t believe the trail system viewscape would be affected.

Thanks for the opportunity to provide input
