What’s good? I’m a fan
of the Oxford Aqua range of gear.
I’ve previously tested a roll bag,
inner bags and the smaller-
capacity V12 rucksack. All
have been great quality, fully
waterproof and value for
money and this 20-litre
version has proved to be
no different. The roll top
opening is easy to access
and the large storage
compartment holds my
laptop, gym kit and lunch
for my daily commute.
On a recent overnight
excursion, there was
plenty of space for
my essentials. For
extra comfort, there
are also padded
back panels and an
adjustable waist and
chest straps. With the
nights drawing in I like the fact there’s
loads of reflective panelling on the bag,
winter kit is notoriously dark so having
something that stands out so well has
only got to help with being seen.
What’s not? OK, so I have to admit it is
a little garish and pink isn’t everyone’s
cup of tea. There are more subtle
colours available but, personally, I
rather like blazing neon, as it takes
me back to my youth! There is a small

What’s good? These are the
black-only, waterproof version of
the RT-Race, and share the same squeaky
Double Flex Control architecture and fit as
the pure racing boot. For comfort, easy-on
and fuss-free fastening they are hard to fault.
What’s not? They’re not waterproof and feet
get fully wet within two hours of continuous
rain. The Double Flex Control ankle armour
marks my bike’s heel plates too.

What’s good? This suit is a mix-
match combination, consisting
of the Furygan Brutale Evo 3
jacket (£399.99) and Bud Evo
trousers (£249.99), as well as
a Viper D30 back protector
(£35.99). Despite being
separate, the trousers and
jacket attach to each other
intuitively and offer a secure
fit – only complemented by
the soft and flexible back
protector. Alongside this, the
leather feels supple and the
whole suit remains comfortable
on even the longest of journeys. I
have ridden in almost all weathers
and it has performed well. Remove
the lining, and it’s perfect for a
summer’s day. Pop the lining back
in and it’s warm enough when it gets
cold. When I’ve been caught out in the
rain, both the jacket and trousers have
kept me dry.
What’s not? The jacket really should
come with a back protector as
standard at this price. There is also
nothing to help keep the central
zip tag in place, meaning you are
constantly whipped on the neck.
