A residential community for our youth

As we sail forward to a new horizon, what makes us who we are stays constant.Effective February 21st, Boys and Girls Harbor is Today’s Harbor for Children. For more than 70 years, our organization has provided a crucial safe harbor for children in crisis. We will continue to be that organization. With this new name and brand, we're aiming to raise our visibility as a resource for both families in crisis and partners who are tirelessly working to provide hope and a future for our region’s youth. To do more and to go further, we needed to be clear about who we serve and what sets us apart.

Our new name is just one step of many toward becoming more visible in the community. We will be able to rally more individuals together to become a united force in providing a safe harbor for the youth of our city.

Our new name honors our 70-year legacy while demonstrating that the hardships the children in our care have faced were only temporary. With Today’s Harbor for Children, they are given the tools to move forward to tomorrow’s dreams. Like an actual harbor, the organization is a place of safety, of discovery and of service.

Name Change Details Our motivation in changing our name was that more people would recognize who we are and what we do so we can better expand our reach and help more abused and neglected children in Houston.

Our name change is effective February 21, 2018.

Please address all future mail, donations and emails to reflect Today’s Harbor for Children. If you have previous checks or contracts with Boys and Girls Harbor, they are still valid. We ask that you begin transitioning documents to Today’s Harbor for Children.

You may see our name displayed as Today’s Harbor For Children, Formerly Boys and Girls Harbor on our websites and letterhead as we transition over the next few months.
