ShrineSpots where you can get a vermilion stamp

Information

Photo & viewing spot

Ushijima ShrineThe shrine is next to Sumida Park and is also known for its enshrinement of the tutelary deity of TOKYO SKYTREE®. Legend has it that stroking a spot on the cow's body will help cure a pain or disease on the same spot of the human body.

Mimeguri ShrineIt is not certain when this shrine was established. Some think it was founded in the Heian period by the illustrious Kukai, a monk who became one of Japan's "Great Teachers" of Buddhism. Visitors can have a paper pad stamped with a vermilion image every day in the months January - April, but advance confirmation is needed after April.

Asakusa ShrineThe shrine is on the eastern side of the main building in Sensoji Temple. Construction of the shrine was completed in 1649 with funding from the Tokugawa shogun Iemitsu. Visitors can have paper stamped with limited-term vermilion images on the occasion of ceremonies and other shrine functions.
