ASB to Demonstrate Two High Performance

Machines & Advanced Technologies

at Chinaplas 2016

Nissei ASB Machine Co., Ltd. (Head office: Komoro-shi, Nagano-ken, President: Kota

Aoki), a world leading PET and plastics bottle stretch blow molding machine

manufacture, will exhibit at Chinaplas 2016 (Booth No. W4F41), to be held in Shanghai,

China from April 25th to 28th.

ASB will be demonstrating two of its top-line molding machines, the PF24-8B/12

1.5-step injection stretch blow molding machine and an enhanced version of its

ASB-70DPH v4 one-step injection stretch blow molding machine. In addition a range

of ASB’s specialized molding technologies and unique sample containers will be on

display.

Chinaplas 2016 Chinaplas has now become the world’s second largest plastics & rubber trade fair and is

held annually at various locations within China. In 2015 it was held at Guangzhou

where over 3,270 exhibitors took part from 39 countries and it attracted over 128,000

visitors of which over 35,000 were from 137 overseas countries and regions. In 2016

the exhibition will be held in Shanghai and is forecast to exceed 2015’s event in terms of

both exhibitors and visitors.

ASB will exhibit and announce the products below in Chinaplas 2016;

PF24-8B/12 Molding Deep Grip Pinch Type Handle

High Performance 1.5-Step Injection Stretch Blow Molding Machine

The PF24-8B/12 uses ASB’s unique and pioneering 1.5-step molding process to

injection stretch blow mold PET bottles directly from raw material in an extremely

compact space. In order to achieve the same output by alternative molding methods at

least 2-3 times the factory floor area would be required.

Additionally, by molding the preform within the same machine where the bottle is blown,

the quality and hygiene of the preform and finished bottle is of the highest possible level

making the machine ideally suited to an in-line filling operation for food products.

For increased versatility, the PF24 models can be converted at the customer’s factory

between 24 injection / 8 blow cavity molding for bottles up to 1.5 liters and 12 injection /

4 blow cavity molding for bottles up to 5 liters. By changing cavity configuration and

molds, the same PF24 model is equally at home molding lightweight water bottles at up

to 9,000bph.

At Chinaplas, the PF24-8B/12 machine will be molding a PET 1.9 liter soy sauce / edible

oil container in a 12-4 molding configuration. The container will feature a deep pinch

grip style handle that uses specially designed blow molds and advanced molding

methods to fully form the handle by blow molding alone. No handle inserter or injection

molded handle is required giving a container that is cheaper to produce, utilizes less

molding energy, is easy and comfortable to hold in the hand, and is more easy to

recycle.

ASB-70DPH v4 Extended Daylight Model

Mid-Range One Step Injection Stretch Blow Molding Machine

The ASB-70DPH is a medium sized one-step injection stretch blow molding machine

which can produce containers from PET and other types of plastic resins in one

machine. Due to its continual development and extreme molding versatility for a wide

range of container designs and resins this is one of ASB’s best-selling series, resulting

in the sale of more than 1,700 units.

Now fitted with servo driven hydraulic pumps as standard, the machine offers extremely

low power consumption. In tests using the same molds, an energy consumption

reduction of 40% was achieved compared with the ASB-70DPH v4 standard model, and

approx. 64% reduction compared with the previous ASB-70DPH v3.

New for this exhibition, the ASB-70DPHv4 is now offered with a factory option of

extended injection clamp daylight for even greater flexibility in molding of longer

preforms as is often required when molding non-PET resins, along with an increased

capacity injection unit enabling higher shot volume. The safety door design has also

been updated with a cleaner refreshed image that gives greater access for fast mold

changing. The machine will be demonstrated molding a 700ml Copolyester (Tritan)

re-usable drinking flask in four cavities.
