In order they were Ty Dixon, Ray MacKinnon, Kerryn Simpfendorfer, Tim Boulton and myself. All that ASBAQ is today stems from this group of people and the members of the committee over this time, and I thank them for their service to our association. At the end of the year we also see Richard Occhipinti depart the committee. Richard has been on the ASBAQ Committee for over a decade and during this time has managed the Membership Committee and has also been a key player in the rewriting of our constitution. On behalf of the committee, I thank Richard for his many efforts over the years. The ASBA Board met at The Southport School over the last two days of October. ASBA has come a long way in the last few years. This year we have appointed the Executive Officer (Pip Jones) and we are seeing immediate gains across our association. Into 2015 there will be a number of announcements on the sponsorship front and also on the way ASBA generally does business. 2015 will also see the National Conference being held in Perth from September 28 through until October 1. The planning for the conference is well underway and ASBAQ will be supplying a number of bursaries to allow as many members as possible to attend. Please put the dates into your schedule. Many thanks to everyone for your support of ASBAQ during my time as President, it has been a most enjoyable journey. Cheers Ross Cardiff ASBAQ President

Obituary Paul Riggall passed away last week. Paul was Business Manager at St Laurence’s College, South Brisbane for approximately 11 years before stepping down due ill health. He battled strongly for 4 years before succumbing to his cancer on 11 November 2014.

He will be remembered for his commitment to his role as Business Manager and for the significant capital developments he supervised over quite a number of years as well as for his dry sense of humour and his keen interests in all forms of sport. A significant number of fellow Business Managers attended Paul’s funeral to pay their respects and to honour their friend and former colleague.

ASBAQ extends its sincere condolences to Paul’s wife, Angela, and his children Jessica, Damian and Nicholas. May he rest in peace.
