A Note from the 2019 IAC Host, Drexel University
To the Attendees of the 2019 International Annual Conference of theAmerican Society for Engineering Management:
We offer a warm welcome to all our colleagues at the ASEM conference!Engineering Management as a discipline has a long history here inPhiladelphia as Drexel's Engineering Management Program conferred it'sfirst Master's in Engineering Management in 1959. Over the years, wehave grown with the increasing demand for excellence in technicalleadership skills. We also pioneered the development of Online Engineering Managementcourses in 1997 through 2001 to make graduate courses available worldwide.
While you are attending the conference, we encourage you to take some time out to explore themany cultural and historic sites that are unique to our area. You could visit the NationalConstitution Center or visit the Reading Terminal Market for a lunchtime excursion. You couldalso plan a day or two sight-seeing before or after the conference. Best wishes for a greatconference and visit to the Philadelphia Area.

Nominations are being accepted through June 30 for the annual ASEM awards. Pleasevisit https://asem.org/Society-Awards to learn more about requirements for all awards. Submitnominations via the ASEM Online Nomination Form by June 30 for the following awards. Pleasenote that some awards require that you send in additional information as well.
Bernard R. Sarchet Award: This is considered to be the highest award given by ASEM. Thisaward recognizes contributions to the Society and to the field of engineering management.
Frank Woodbury Special Service Award: This award recognizes an ASEM member who hasprovided outstanding service to the Society.
Meritorious Service Award: These awards were created to recognize the effort of the localsections of ASEM. Four awards exist and include:
1. New Member Recruiting2. Outstanding Non-Board Member3. Outstanding Local Section President4. Outstanding Student Chapter President
Founder's Award – Undergraduate: This award recognizes an undergraduate engineeringmanagement program leadership.
Founder's Award – Graduate: This award recognizes a graduate engineering managementprogram leadership.
Founder's Award – Student Chapter: This award recognizes an ASEM student chapterexcellence. All active ASEM student chapters are eligible.
Presidential Award – Local Section: Annually recognizes ASEM local section excellence. Allactive ASEM local sections are eligible.
William Daughton World Headquarters Service Award: This award recognizes significantcontributions to the streamlining, enhancement, or improvement of the day-to-day operations ofASEM world headquarters.
