Does DTI offer Financial Assistance? No, At this time we do not offer Financial Assistance. However, DTI does offer payment plans. The basic hemodialysis training program is an entry-level training program that provides theory and practical instruction in the care and treatment of renal patients. This program leads to the occupations of Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or Hemodialysis trained nurse. The nurse

specialty option is only available to those students who already hold a valid California registered nurse license.) The training program comprises 160 hours of classroom and laboratory training, and 155 hours of clinical externship training (for a total of 315 training hours) in the fundamental aspects of hemodialysis.

Program OverviewA prospective student interested in admission to the Basic Hemodialysis Training Program at DTI must:

•Be 18 years of age by the scheduled startingdate of clinical externship.

•Submit a completed enrollment package

•Participate in a face-to-face interview

•Achieve a passing score on the DTIEntrance Exam

•Provide evidence of High SchoolGraduation, or equivalent and

•Provide two forms of government issuedidentification

Fundamentals in Hemodialysis:

‣ Intro to Anatomy and Physiology

‣ Acute and Chronic Renal Failure

‣ Biochemistry

‣ Care and concerns of the patient

‣ Anticoagulation

‣ Procedural routine of hemodialysis

Externship Clinical externship is included in the program and students will be interviewed for placement at a clinic or hospital with a preceptor for the duration of the program.

LaboratoryOur laboratory environment models a clinical setting by using the latest Cannulation arms, Fresenius 2008T, and 2008K’s, B-Braun Dialog Plus dialysis machines as well as a variety of other models which are utilized in clinics, hospital and home settings.
