"Where do I get a...?" TCard Office Room 2122, William G. Davis Building 905-‐569-‐4975 The TCard is your U of T photo ID. It’s used for academic purposes, facility access, student activities and services. It’s also a library card and a smartcard, so you can carry cash on it and use it to purchase photocopies, computer printing, laundry services and vending services on campus, as well as meal plan dollars. Find your UTORid on your TCard. To activate it, you must go to UTORID and use the secret activation key (SAK) issued by the TCard office at the time you receive your TCard. UHIP card Register online and print out your card. Find the link at uoft.me/uhip. UHIP is a health insurance plan that gives international students coverage that’s similar to OHIP. What is UTMSU? Where is UTMSU? The University of Toronto Mississauga Students’ Union (UTMSU) is the union that represents undergraduate students. It coordinates events and campaigns and provides a number of services: Used Book Exchange, Health and Dental Plans and discounted entertainment tickets and passes (i.e. movies and Canada's Wonderland.) UTMSU office is first floor of the Student Centre. How do I opt-‐out of my student health insurance plan? You may opt-‐out of health benefits and receive a refund of the fees charged to you only if you are covered by another comparable plan. Anyone may request a refund of the dental fees. Instructions are on UTMSU website. Deadline for fall session is October 3rd. International students should ask IEC. Where can I go if I am having problems and need to talk to someone? Orientation and coming to university can be a huge transition and may be overwhelming for some students. You may feel you would like to talk to someone. Here are some places you can go:

Travel & Transportation How do I use the UTM Shuttle Bus? The UTM stop is in front of the Instructional Building. The St. George stop is in front of Hart House, 7 Hart House Circle. At the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), get your tickets from the Info Booth in the Student Centre or at the kiosk outside IB. On the St. George campus, get your tickets and information at The HUB in Hart House. You can buy monthly passes in Rm. 2097 of the Davis Building. Note: UTM students travel free with their valid TCard. For all other students a one-‐way ticket is $6. Students can also use a PRESTO card on the transit services. PRESTO cards allow transit customers to pay their fare using a convenient, electronic, reloadable smartcard. The PRESTO card can be used on subways, buses, and streetcars. PRESTO can be purchased online or at GO stations. Money & Fees Where do I pay my fees? Pay your fees at a bank, either in person or through online banking. How do I set up my email? You set up your U of T email at the same time as you activate your UTORid. Do this at utorid.utoronto.ca. The U of T Portal, also referred to as Blackboard, is an online tool used by professors and students to share information, post assignments and articles, post marks and communicate with each other.
