2015 D1 CAS TRIP TO ASNI MOROCCO
Promoting education as a force for good by enabling and empowering the voice of youth
Association Tiwizi is a Moroccan non-governmental association created in 1998, which works in the areas of education, socio-economic development, environmental protection, capacity building and networking with the firm aim of meeting the social and economic needs of rural Asni, as well supporting the development of cultural and sporting activities. Sotogrande International School and The Kindred Project have been working with Association Tiwizi since 2007! www.associationtiwizi.com
The D1 Trip to Asni (this is our 8th one!) is a key part of
the IB Creativity, Action and Service Program (CAS) at
SIS, which directly supports Association Tiwizi, in
Morocco.
By living and working hand-in-hand with Asni
community members, students were able to meet their
CAS outcomes, engage with new experiences, learn and
build new friendships that will be remembered forever.
SIS is particularly thankful for the unique opportunities
and friendships that Association Tiwizi and the
community of Asni have given us.
SHUKRAN, MERCI, THANK YOU!

The Kindred Project (KP) was set up in 2010 by Sotogrande International School as an independent student-led Nongovernmental Organization. KP’s mission is to promote education as a force for good by enabling and empowering the voice of youth as agents of positive change within their communities and beyond. To achieve this, KP is currently working on a four-year project called Force for Good, involving different community partners in Ecuador, Morocco, Spain and Uganda. This project aims to support these communities in overcoming poverty by means of increasing education quality and access, supporting social entrepreneurship models, as well as promoting values of global citizenship. Are you interested in working hand-in-hand with other young people and community members, here and abroad, to understand and overcome together some of the challenges faced?

A note from Hassan “I get a positive feeling when I say that we have always shared good experiences with Sotogrande School; it means nearly a lifetime experience since our project was built back in 2007. I can say that our success has depended on the support given by Sotogrande; now our dreams and reality is all we can share with you! Without Sotogrande International School, our project, which was only just a dream before 2007, would be nothing… but today our dreams have become a reality and many groups and schools wish and ask us to come to our Association to have the same experience like the one lived by Sotogrande. Every April, myself, the Association and the entire community of Asni, we celebrate the birthday of our friendship and partnership.”
In Danielle’s words…
MAGIC… that is how I would describe, not only Asni, but also the people, the experiences, and all the happiness that I am surrounded by. I’ve had some great adventures, in the snow, in the rain, and in the sun, all in this same place!
