    An assembly working-drawing indicates hoW the individuamachine or mechanism are assembled to make a complete unit.working-drawing serves the following purposes:l. lt describes the shape of the assembled unit.2. lt indicates how the parts of the assembled unit are positionto each other.It identifies each component that forms part of the assembIt provides a parts list that describes and lists essential dateach part of the assembled unit.It provides, when necessary, reference information concernical or functional characteristics of the assembled unit.PARTS LISTThe parts list of an assembly working-drawing itemizes importaneach part of an assembled unit such as part name, material, quanand size specifications.ln the materiat column the abbreviation STD. is shown for allstaThis indicates that they must be purchased.     Hidden lines that do not add to the clarity of an assembty worshould be omitted.Do not position parts identification balloons haphazardly.them in straight lines around the views, preferably clockwise ence.Parts leaders should be drawn at an angle.Adjacent parts that are sectioned should have different typlines, should have section lines drawn at different angles,spaced differently in order to make them readily apparent.On assembly working-drawings shafts, rivets, keys, screweners, and other solid parts are not usually sectioned.When necessary, reference information is shown on assemdrawings in the form of notes and dimensions.
