El Chacal Mexican food is a gourmet restaurant located in Sydney Australia since 2009. As its name says, our focus is the authentic Mexican food, selling famous Mexican dishes such as Enchiladas, Burritos, Quesadillas and Fajitas.

During the years that the restaurant has been running we have detected some hazards that are:

The fryer. Some of our staff during the shifts have got burnt while is using it.

Wet floorWhen the customers spill something on the floor.

Lifting crates and boxesSome staff has reported backache

1.The purpose of this report is to reduce those hazards in the company, to avoid people sliding because of the floor has liquids and to prevent injuries and damages.

2.The format and means staff people can communicate to us about hazards and risks depend on the urgency of themselves if its urgent they can talk to their supervisor in charge such a shift leader or a face to face meeting and if it is not urgent they can email or fill the hazard and risks manage report. We have decided to do it in that way because is the best way we can deal with those issues.

3. The reason this report is important is because with it we can manage in an effective way the hazards and risks that can happen during the restaurant is running that is the aim we required such document.

4. The logical sequence to manage a hazard is:1. Hazard identification2. Risk assessment3. Risk control4. Review

5.The structure and contents of the document is Hazard identification

We can identify hazard through:Incident reportingRegister of injuriesFeedback from employees

Risk AssessmentRisk Assessment determines how likely and how serious the effects will be on people in the workplace being exposed to the hazard. Work out which hazards are most serious and deal with them first. To assess the risk, we consider: The type of hazardHow severely could the hazard injure or cause illnessHow likely is this consequence going to happen.

Risk controlRisk Control involves deciding what needs to be done to eliminate or control the risks to health and safety. Where possible, we will try to remove or eliminate the problem from the workplace.

ReviewPeriodic reviews of control measures and risk assessments should be conducted to ensure the control measures implemented are appropriate and effective and the risk assessments are still valid. This can be achieved through safety audits, regular workplace inspections, consultation with employees and review of incident investigations. Risk management should be built into all workplace activities that can give raise to safety issues.
