The learner will be able to set up a Google Site for use as an e-Portfolio.

Part I: Getting your Google profile ready

A. Sign in to your Google Account

1) Create a new account, if necessary, at https://accounts.google.com/signup.

2) Sign in to your account at: https://myaccount.google.com/.

B. Prepare your Portfolio Assets

1) Open the webpage at https://www.google.ca/drive/.

2) Click “Go to Google Drive.”

3) Right-click on “My Drive.”

4) Select “Upload files…”

5) Select some files to share within your e-Portfolio.

A. Launch a new Google Site

1) Open the webpage at https://sites.google.com/.

2) Click “Create.”

3) Click “in new Sites.”

1) Click on the “Themes” tab.

2) Select from the options given.

5) Click on “Your page title.”

6) Edit the text to give your homepage a header.

A. Add an additional page

1) Click on the “Pages” tab.

2) Click on the round “+” icon.

3) Type in the new page name.…

5) Click on “Untitled page.”

6) Edit the text to give your new page a header.

1) Use the “Pages” tab to navigate to a page you wish to add text to.

2) Click on the “Insert” tab.

3) Click on “Text box.” …

4) Click within the blue field of the new text box.

5) Type your desired message.

6) Use the relevant buttons to make desired edits.

C. Add a file

1) Navigate to the page you wish to add a file to by using the “Pages” tab.

2) Click on the “Insert” tab.

3) Click on “From Drive.” …

4) Click on the file in the picker that you wish to add.

5) Click “Insert.”

6) Use the relevant buttons to make desired edits.

D. Build, edit, and preview

1) Repeat the steps in Part III, A-C as necessary.

2) Click on the eyeball icon at the top of the page to “Preview” your whole site.

3) Explore your site looking for anything you may wish to go back and change.

4) Click on the blue “X” at lower right to exit the preview.

Part IV: Finishing your e-Portfolio

A. Put your e-Portfolio on the web

1) Click on “Publish.”

2) Type a unique addendum to your site’s URL.

3) Uncheck the box to “Allow my site to appear in search results” if desired.

4) Click “Publish.”

Part IV: Finishing your e-Portfolio

B. Share your e-Portfolio

1) Click on the arrow next to “Publish.”

2) Select “View published site” to see it on the web.

3) Make note of the full URL shown in your browser.

4) Send the URL to friends or colleagues you’d like to share with.

C. Future site management

1) Visit https://sites.google.com/new to view your collection of Google Sites.

2) Click on a site if you wish to return to editor mode.
