Assignment 3 - Various Statistics TASK 1:
From the field observation was found that the volume of traffic flow at given segment of
the roadway is 340 veh/h.
Calculate:
- probability that no vehicle will pass through given point in 1 minute;
- probability that just 6 vehicles will pass through given point in 1 minute;
- probability that less than 6 vehicles will pass through given point in 1 minute;
TASK 2:
Based on the survey, 55 of car holders using their passenger car for commutation.
There are 10 commuters being randomly selected from one organization.
Estimate:
- the probability that 1 person among 10 commuters will choose his passenger car for
travel to work;
- the probability that all persons will choose their passenger cars for travel to work.
TASK 3:
How many vehicles will arriving in an intersection cycle (with a confidence of 95 as
minimum). The cycle lenght of a signalized intersection is 90 seconds. The arrival rate of
vehicles is 420 veh/h.
