PEOPLE I HAVE INTERVIEWED • What smart phone would you prefer and why?
Galaxy S4, Because it has many features and its now easier to use.
• What Smartphone would you least prefer and why?
I don’t like the iPhone as it keeps changing, no point of buying one smartphone because in a years time there will be a better one, I'm personally wasting my money for something which wont be new anymore in a couple of months
• What’s your opinion about technology?
Its really helpful, and I cant imagine my life without technology as it really helps me in my life, especially the smartphone where I can do so many things on it, who knew that I can talk to my phone!
INTERESTING INFORMATION
• Out of the 5 billion mobile phone users in the world, 1.08 billion are smartphone users
• More than 91.4 million smartphones users are from the U.S
• 53% of smartphone users are male and 47% are female
• Apple iPhone users download the maximum applications per month, which is 48
• Apple is the world's second-largest information technology company by revenue after Samsung Electronics, and the world's third-largest mobile phone maker after Samsung and Nokia
STATISTICS
This means only 20% in the whole world who does not have a smartphone
This means many peoples life have changed as they are holding a smartphone whereas only a few people who don’t have a smartphone which can mean many things such as they either cant afford it, or they want to live how they used to and not change that.
And that’s only in the US, and what if it was Russia or china, china would be way more maybe because china has more technology than us, more likely they have more people who use their smartphones
This proves that many people cannot live without there smartphones, shows us that is part of our lives and it would be difficult if we didn’t use them as part as our daily routine
This shows the most popular smartphone company, in 2011 it was android.
Text messaging is the most source of the smartphone people use
Browsing on the internet is the most 2nd source used on the smartphone
Shows that almost the elderly or the old fashioned, are not used to holding smartphones because they don’t know how it works or they are not used to all the new technology
Shows that males have more smartphones than females, this can be either the difference between their job etc
Most people who mostly use the smartphones are aged 25-34 years
This shows what people use there phone for, appstore, videos, or game store.
Singapore has the most people using smartphones In that country
Spain is the 5th country who has the most people using smartphones
This shows that many country's have a high percentage of people using smartphones, this clearly shows that smartphones have big impact on our lives.
DIFFERENT SMARTPHONE COMPANY’S
Apple S4 Blackberry Sony Xperia Z1 HTC
Apple is known for its innovative designs and popular hardware consumer electronics products: the MacBook, iPod and iPhone
The S4 features "touchless" technology and can be controlled by its user's eyes. A "smart pause" function allows the user to stop a video by looking away.
The handset announced earlier this year features the classic BlackBerry QWERTY Keyboard and a touch-screen display. Battery 13.5 hours
One of the smartphone's key features is its waterproof handset. The X-peria Z1 is also said to take "world-leading" photographs with its 21 megapixel camera
The device's "Blink Feed" transforms the home screen into a stream of news, photos and social updates.
QUOTE FROM APPLE
• “Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers...The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules...About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward…we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
I really liked this quote in my opinion, as it proves that apple keeps moving faster and don’t want to stop. As clearly they want to move the human race forward this can be seen as apples aim.
DEBATE
The Good thing about technology changing fast
The Bad thing about technology moving fast
Makes life more easier, such as ordering your food online this can be an advantage e.g. might not have a car
They cannot keep up with cost, as each year they create a new smartphone
Can help in education wise, instead of going to the library you just look on the web
Some people cannot afford them, cannot keep up and ‘do not fit into society’
DEBATE
The Good thing about technology changing fast
The Bad thing about technology moving fast
It has made it a better place by improving communication, transportation etc, can check the bus times on your smartphone.
Makes us more lazy as a human race, instead of going to the supermarket u order them to your house
Better living, better houses, without technology we would be living in bad and ugly houses. Makes the world more developed
People would be out graded quicker, as there iPhone can be old in one years time as there will be better.
INDEPENDENT FILMS ARE TURNING TO MAINSTREAM FILMS
WHY TURNING TO MAINSTREAM?• People like the independent films as they are unique and are not repeated or even
predictable.
• As many people will watch them it will be more likely to turn into a mainstream film as now the director would know what the audience really want and what they prefer watching.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE CURZON • In 2012 the Curzon Cinema reached the final for Best Heritage Project of the National
Lottery Awards.
• To be kept up to date with our new film releases and events, please register for our newsletters or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
• This shows that they can be in touch with Curzon through social networking sites, which can easily make new audiences as many people will be re-tweeting or liking statuses and shows on there friends wall, this instantly creates a wider range of audience which then leads to a mainstream film
QUOTE – CURZON DIRECTOR GARETH NEGUS
• “Restoring the Curzon has always been about more than repairing the building, we wanted to open up the heritage of the Curzon to our visitors; including not only the physical building but its social history, and what it has meant to the people of Clevedon over the past century. Even some of our regular customers were unaware until now that there is more to the Curzon than the box office and the auditorium
Shows how important the independent cinemas are to people, especially when the building has a history. Especially when it opened on 20 April 1912 by Victor Cox, the original building had 200 seats. That’s how old it is, and now there is more than 200 seets which shows that many people are interested in independent films and enjoy them
HUNGER GAMES
The rating is really high and so is the users which proves that many people were also watching this film
INTERESTING INFORMATION – HUNGER GAMES
• The movie cost $90 million to make, reduced to $78 million after subsidies.
• The chances of their book sequels ‘Catching Fire’ and ‘Mockingjay’ being converted into films depended on the money the first movie made. Due to the success of the first movie, ‘Catching Fire’ is now being produced
Independent films don’t normally do more than one film, but hunger game is, so there will be soon hunger games 2.
STATISTICS
Hunger game has there own website which proves that they have made a lot of money from the film
TRAINSPOTTING
Danny Boyle is a well known director for making mainstream films such as Slum-dog Millionaire, this can show that there is a chance for trainspotting to become a mainstream film as many people will watch this film and will earn a lot of money
The ratings are amazing, as they nearly hit 10/10. as there 299,598 proves that a lot of people have rated it, turning into a mainstream!
INTERESTING INFORMATION – TRAINSPOTTING
• ranked 10th by the British Film Institute (BFI) in its list of Top 100 British films of all time. – which proves its success
• Advertised it in many ways. – which proves that they want many people to see it not just their niche audience
STATISTICS – TRAINSPOTTING Shows that many people have watched and talking about this which also proves that it has turned into a wider audience
Normally niche audience is one particular part of the country, in this case it hit all around the world.
