As an ethical concept, integrity depends upon consistency. To have

integrity, a person must base his/her actions upon a well-thought out framework of moral

    principles. Whathe/shedoesshould bethesameaswhathe/shesays. Forexample,apersonwho

    Dignity

Dignity isa term used in moral, ethical, and political discussions tosignify thatabeing hasan

innate right to respectand ethical treatment. It isanextensionofEnlightenment-erabeliefs that

individuals have inherent, inviolable rights, and thus is closely related to concepts like virtue,

respect, self-respect, autonomy, human rights, and enlightened reason. Dignity is generally

proscriptiveand cautionary: inpoliticsitisusuallysynonymousto 'humandignity',and isused to

    Courageofconviction

There are times in life whenyou feel so stronglyabout a particularmatter thatyou have to be

prepared to stand alone with yourbeliefsand to take action towards them even if nobody else

wants to supportyou. For example, this might be in a political context, it may concern family

relationships or it maybean artistic vision. Whatever the circumstance, youwill need courage,

determination and strength of character to defend your viewpoint and not be beaten into

    submissionbyotherpeoplesopinions.

faithful to the person you're talking to, and not to deliberately deceive. Ifyou always dealt in good

faith, told the truth as you saw it, you might occasionally be mistaken, but you'd do a much better

job than someone who didn't think honesty was important.

What is the value nearest to your heart?

Courage ofconviction is the value nearest to my heart because there are times in life when you feel

so strongly about a particular matter that you have to be prepared to stand alone with yourbeliefs

and to take action towards them even if nobody else wants to support you. For example, this might

be in a political context, it may concern family relationships or it may be an artistic vision. Whatever

the circumstance, you will need courage, determination and strength of character to defend your

viewpoint and not be beaten into submission by other peoples opinions.

Define ethics as value, as value?

    Ethics as value

Ethic value denotes something's degree of importance, with the aim of determining what action or

life is best to do or live, or at least attempt to describe the value of different actions. It may be

described as treating actions themselves as abstract objects, putting value to them. It deals with

right conduct and good life, in the sense that a highly, or at least relatively highly, valuable action

may be regarded as ethically "good" (adjective sense), and an action of low, or at least relatively

low, value may be regarded as "bad".

    Ethics as principle

The principles have been organized into three categoriesfor ease o

    fuse: personal, pro

    fessionaland global ethics.

    Principles ofPersonal Ethics

Personal ethics might also be called morality, since they reflect general expectations ofany personin any society, acting in any capacity. These are the principles we try to instill in our children, andexpect ofone another without needing to articulate the expectation orformalize it in any way.

    Principles ofProfessional Ethics

Individuals acting in a professional capacity take on an additional burden o

fethical responsibility. For example, professional associations have codes ofethics that prescribe required behavior

within the context ofa professional practice such as medicine, law, accounting, or engineering. These written codes provide rules ofconduct and standards ofbehaviorbased on the principles ofProfessional Ethics, which include:

    Principles ofGlobal Ethics

Global ethics are the most controversial ofthe three categories, and the least understood. Open towide interpretation as to how or whether they should be applied, these principles can sometimesgenerate emotional response and heated debate.

Each ofus influences the world by simply existing; and it is always wise to think globally. An

    added measure of

accountability is placed on globally influential enterprises such as governmentsand transnational corporations. (Responsibility comes with power whether we accept it or not.) One

of the burdens of leadership is to influence society and world affairs in a positive way. Can aperson, nation or company truly be successful while causing human suffering or irreparableenvironmental damage? A more modern and complete model ofsuccess also considers impact onhumanity and the earths ecology.

    Define ethical value in business?

Business ethics (also known as corporate ethics) is a form of applied ethics orprofessional ethics

that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that arise in a business

environment. It applies to all aspects of business conduct and is relevant to the conduct ofindividuals and business organizations as a whole. Applied ethics is a field ofethics that deals with

ethical questions in many fields such as medical, technical, legal and business ethics.

Business ethics can be both a normative and a descriptive discipline. As a corporate practice and a

career specialization, the field is primarily normative. In academia descriptive approaches are also

    taken.

Applying ethics in business makes good sense. A business that behaves ethically induces other

business associates to behave ethically as well. Ifa company (or a manager) exercises particular

care in meeting all responsibilities to employees, customers and suppliers it usually is awarded

with a high degree of loyalty, honesty, quality and productivity. For examples, employees who are

treated ethically will more likely behave ethically themselves in dealing with customers and

business associates. A supplier who refuses to exploit its advantage during a seller's market

retains the loyalty and continued business of its customers when conditions change to those ofa

buyer's market. A company that refuses to discriminate against older or handicapped employees

often discovers that they are fiercely loyal, hardworking and productive.

It is my firm beliefthat a good man or woman who steadfastly tries to be ethical (i.e. to do the

right thing", to make appropriate ethical decisions, etc.) somehow always overtakes his immoral or

amoral counterpart in the long run. A plausible explanation of

this view on ethical behavior is thatwhen individuals operate with a sense ofconfidence regarding the ethical soundness oftheir

position, their mind and energies are freed for maximum productivity and creativity. On the other

hand, when practicing unethical behavior, the individual finds it necessary to engage in exhausting

subterfuge, resulting in diminished effectiveness and reduced success. The best way to promote

ethical behavior is by setting a good personal example. Teaching an employee ethics is not always

effective. One can explain and define ethics to an adult, but understanding ethics does not
