May the flowers remind us why
the rain was necessary!!! I know
that these past few months have
been nothing short of a challenge
for us all, I just want to say that
we are doing our very best to take
care of your loved ones as if they
are our own grandparents!! I have
felt like Arbor House has been my
home away from home since
starting here almost 2 years ago. I
started at the reception desk,
where I got to know all of you wonderful families! When I
am not here at work, I am at home spending time with my
family. I have 3 beautiful, smart, sassy, funny teenagers,
who keep me young. I also have two fur babies whom I love
and adore! I have been with my husband and best friend for
15 yrs., married 6yrs. I couldn’t do this crazy thing called life
without him, him and my kids are my biggest cheerleaders. I
am truly blessed. I am so excited to take on my new role
here at Arbor House, as the Resident Services Coordinator in
our Assisted Living. I hope that together we can continue to
take the best care of your loved ones! My door is always
open, and I encourage you to please contact me with any
questions.

Note from the DON, Kristi Burger
The Covid-19 virus has caused everyone to be inside their rooms trying to prevent the spread of this virus.
We have been blessed that each of our team members have taken this threat seriously and have done their
part in not bringing this virus into Arbor House. We are so ready to open our doors and let our families back
in for visits!! Unfortunately, at this time we still do not have a date when we can return to normal.
Generally, there is an increase in depression in the winter months. The days are shorter and the nights are
longer. It seems like less time during the day to do things to stay active. We have started to experience the
same effects from being on lockdown. Our team is doing everything possible to keep residents as active as
possible, while following strict guidelines.
There are somethings we can do to help stay active and prepare for normalcy again. Residents are
encouraged to do daily chair exercises and walk around their rooms. They can do jigsaw puzzles, adult
coloring, solitaire, word puzzles and many more activities to keep their brains active.
We are allowed to have home health in the community that can help with strength and balance building
exercises. For those residents that have any form of cognitive impairment, we can bring home health in to
do brain building exercises. If you would like more interaction and feel you could benefit from home health,
please reach out to me. If you are curious what they could do for you, then please reach out to me. We have
several companies that we work very closely with that would love to come spend some time with you. The
great thing about home health is the cost is generally paid for in full by Medicare or Medicare supplement
insurance companies.
Families if you have any ideas on how we can help your family member during this
time, please reach out to us. As always, we only want what is best for our extended
Arbor House family members! Thank you all for your patience and understanding
during this time.
