On Assistive Technology and Special Education

Charles Yum

“The efficient and effective use of assistive technology can be as basic a skill for students with disabilities as reading, writing, and arithmetic”

“providing students with disabilities with a ‘level playing field’ in every area of life accomplishment.”

www.pluk.org

“Teachers need to integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum instead of viewing it as an add-on, an afterthought, or and event.”

- Heidi-Hayes Jacobs, Educational Assistant

“There can be infinite uses of the computer and of new age technology, but if the teachers themselves are not able to bring it into the classroom and make it work, then it fails.”
