The ALLMI Membership Event 2017 will see all members of the Association (manufacturers / importers, service companies, fleet owners, ancillary equipment suppliers and site operators) coming together to discuss and debate topical issues affecting the lorry loader industry, as well as to receive updates on the wide range of projects and activities being undertaken by ALLMI throughout this year. Two social functions will also be included in the Event, therefore providing extensive networking opportunities for stakeholders from all corners of the lorry loader industry.

The Event will start with a working lunch for all

delegates and will then move on to separate

membership meetings for each of the divisions

within ALLMI. Meetings will include an invaluable

break-out session to facilitate smaller discussion

groups, and will culminate with all delegates

hearing from guest speaker, Perry McCarthy,

ex-Formula 1 driver and formerly ‘The Stig’

from TV’s ‘Top Gear’! This will be followed by

a three course dinner, light entertainment and fundraising activities, with a further opportunity for networking the following day as delegates receive a discounted rate to use one of the region’s top golf courses. Comprehensive details are provided below and so please read this document thoroughly in order to fully appreciate the benefits of attending what will be the most significant and targeted Event in the lorry loader

industry’s 2017 calendar.

The ALLMI Membership Event will take place

on 11th October 2017. The venue will be

the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country

Club in Meriden.

This four star hotel in the heart of the West Midlands is centrally

located (just three miles from the geographical centre of the UK)

and easily accessible from the M6 and M42, as well as being just

four miles from Birmingham

Airport and the city’s

International Train Station. It

features excellent business

facilities, including a health

spa, swimming pool, tennis

courts and a fitness centre,

as well as two golf courses.

Meeting ContentThe Event will see ALLMI hold its Annual General Meeting for manufacturers / importers, service companies and affiliate members. A meeting will also be held simultaneously for members of the ALLMI Operators’ Forum. Both meetings will contain comprehensive updates on important industry issues, as well as numerous major projects being undertaken by ALLMI during 2017.

Perry McCarthy, The StigFollowing the above updates, the meetings

will break up into several smaller groups,

therefore allowing a wide range of topics to be

discussed by each in turn and facilitating greater

engagement with and amongst delegates, as

well as lively and constructive debate.

Both meetings will then conclude with all

delegates coming together to hear from guest

speaker, Perry McCarthy. As an ex-Formula 1

driver and the original Stig from TV’s Top Gear,

Perry will share his fascinating experiences from

the field of motor racing and his time spent

on one of the world’s most popular television

programmes. Perry also has a background in

health and safety, having previously worked in

the oil industry, and he draws upon his intriguing

life story to deliver motivational talks in his own

captivating and humorous style.

Some light-hearted pre-dinner

games will take place, as well as a

prize-draw later in the evening, in

order to raise money for construction

industry charity, the Lighthouse Club.

A private drinks reception will be provided for all delegates, followed by a three course dinner in the hotel’s Arden Suite, which will be used exclusively by ALLMI.

Drinks vouchers will also be issued to delegates, to be used

in the private bar situated within the Arden Suite, and wine will

be provided for each dining table.

Fundraising

Dinner & Drinks

To accompany dinner, live music will be performed by renowned pianist, Carl Lewis. Highly respected and experienced, Carl regularly plays at a wide variety of events throughout the UK and Europe. He has performed for the BBC, ITV and the Hilton Group, as well as at The House of Lords and The Savoy Hotel. Carl’s eclectic and versatile musical repertoire spans classical, jazz, blues, rock and pop; and he is also happy to take requests!

Following dinner, entertainment will be provided by a set from

leading stand-up comedian, Jed Stone. Back by popular demand,

Jed compèred at ALLMI’s first Membership Event in 2015. He is

regularly hired by some of the UK’s biggest blue chip corporations

and has performed many

times on TV and radio,

including appearances on

Sky, the BBC and ITV. Jed

also performs at high profile

private functions, such as

the wedding of Dragons’ Den

star, Hilary Devey. His energy

and enthusiasm, combined

with lightening quick ad-libs

and topical material, means that

Jed is one of the most sought

after comedians in the country

and so we are delighted to

welcome him back.

Accommodation

Accommodation has been reserved at the Forest of Arden

Marriott Hotel & Country Club and is available on a first come,

first served basis. Further accommodation will be arranged

by ALLMI at nearby hotels as required (transport between

the Forest of Arden and these hotels will also be arranged by

ALLMI). Full details regarding the cost of accommodation can

be found within the ‘ALLMI Membership Event 2017 - Booking

Form’ document.

Delegate PacksAll overnight delegates will receive a complimentary ‘ALLMI

Membership Event 2017 Delegate Pack’. Details are still being

finalised, but delegates can look forward to yet another exciting

and practical range of giveaways, which will complement the

high quality branded products supplied at last year’s Event.

In order to book your place, please complete and return the ‘ALLMI Membership Event 2017 - Booking Form’ to the ALLMI Office ASAP.As you will see from the Form, ALLMI will be funding one free place per member company (with the exception of the accommodation

cost) and so charges will apply for any additional delegates. It is the case that the hotel can, of course, only accommodate a limited

number of delegates for this Event and so places will be provided on a first come, first served basis.

GolfThe Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club boasts two golf courses and a driving range.

Should delegates wish to play a round of golf on Thursday, 12th October, discounted rates have been

arranged for both the Aylesford and Arden course. Delegates will need to book this directly with the

hotel (in advance) and should refer to their ALLMI Membership Event 2017 delegate status in order to

receive the discount.

Chairman’s Message “Thank you for taking the time to read through this information. This

Event will provide yet another excellent opportunity for members to

come together, discuss important industry issues and network to the

benefit of all involved with lorry loaders.

The scale and success of our Membership Events increases year on year,

and we look forward to facilitating an even greater number of delegates

and features in 2017. We would, therefore, strongly encourage you to

confirm your attendance for what will be the largest gathering of lorry

loader professionals in the industry’s calendar.
