A- Teaching about Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and Emancipation Proclamation to

22, 5th grade students. The students range from 10 to 11 years in age. The class is comprised of

13 girls, 9 boys, 2 ADHD children, 7 African Americans, 5 Hispanics, and 8 Caucasians.

S- The 5th grade students will know in depth about Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and

Emancipation Proclamation by the end of the day with 100% accuracy. They will be constantly

assessed on their knowledge of the famous speech and act through the various materials listed

below.

S- The materials they will use to ensure their success will be two Web Quests and a Storytelling

YouTube video.

U- There are two Web Quests the first is a follow up from Tuesday on some of Abraham

Lincoln’s accomplishments throughout the Civil War. The second Web Quest is for students to

learn about Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation through interaction online. The

Storytelling YouTube video will be played during class for the students to watch and listen to the

speech being given. The video was made to catch the student’s attention by playing the

Ghostbusters Theme song. The students will listen to the speech given and then we will go

through the written copy of the speech and I will explain the meaning behind what Abraham

Lincoln was saying.

R- The students will interact with the Web Quests and complete the tasks given to them after

reviewing the information. Then the students will interact with me after watching the Storytelling

YouTube video.
