The Big News... Four Seasons Town Centre will be getting a brand new Holiday Décor program for 2002! The program, entitled “Sounds of the Season” is a custom-made musical themed program that includes a new Santa area and overhead décor throughout the center! Because it has been designed and built especially for Four Seasons Town Centre, no other mall in the world will have this décor program! We are proud to offer shoppers the Triad’s first

and ONLY custom Holiday décor program! The centerpiece of our exciting new Holiday décor program is, of course, the Santa Set. Santa’s new home includes a rotating 38’ Christmas Tree Music Box! The set also includes beautiful tower units, two smaller music boxes, an internal music and of course, thousands of beautiful lights! Other elements include characters depicting children singing or playing musical instruments. Children waiting to see Santa will be able to activate the characters, who will sing or play the instrument they are holding. In addition, there will be lighted and decorated trees in the concourse areas throughout the mall and the new program will add overhead décor to the center! Large hanging bells will decorate the open

courts along with musical wreaths. Garland chambeaus will be added to all of the entrance hallways! Even the outdoor entrance trees will get a new musical look! Live poinsettias will complete the look throughout the mall. The Sounds of the Season décor program has been designed and built in the USA by Carpenter Decorating, located in Shelby and Hickory, North Carolina. The program has a price tag of nearly $270,000 and took nearly 4,000 man hours to construct. The program includes more than 25,000 lights, 3,000 feet of garland, and more than 5,000 ornaments. More than 70 people used 30 gallons of paint, 80 sheets of plywood, 100 pounds of glitter, and 100 yards of fabric to build the program elements. It takes a crew of 10-12 to complete the installation. And speaking of….

Have You Ever Wondered….. ...what it takes to decorate a 1.3 million square foot shopping center for the Holiday Season? Installation will begin on Friday, November 8, 2002 at 9:00 pm and will continue through November 12th! Nearly all installation work will be completed during the overnight hours. We anticipate having the program completely installed by November 12th, but may finish some additional installation on November 13th and 14th. We are happy to accommodate the media during the installation process - just give us a call and plan to stay up late!

Big Promotional News A new décor program brings fantastic opportunities to reach customers and create Holiday Magic! Four Seasons Town Centre aims to please, with a host of promotions, events, and added value programs designed to put the entire family in the Holiday Spirit. Nothing puts you in the Holiday Spirit like snow and Four Seasons Town Centre has it! Our new décor will be accompanied by magical Indoor Snowstorms in the Performing Arts Amphitheater. These snowstorms will begin on November 16 and run through December 24. They will take place Monday – Friday at 6pm and 8pm, Saturdays at 12pm, 3pm, and 6pm, Sundays at 2pm and 4pm, and on Christmas Eve at 9am, 12pm, and 4pm. Each snowstorm will last approximately 10 minutes. (The technology is our secret, but the “snow” is completely harmless and will not leave a residue on anything!) Entertainment and support of the arts community has always been a cornerstone at Four Seasons Town Centre - so much so that we commissioned our new Holiday décor program in a musical theme. This year, as we host the “Sounds of the Holiday Season” performance series, each performance will include a dazzling Holiday Light Show. Dancing lights that move in time to the music will adorn the trees in the Amphitheater! This year, the festivities begin with “Santa’s Musical Arrival” and a partnership with the Greensboro Symphony. The Greensboro Symphony Brass Quintet and the Greensboro Symphony Youth Strings will

provide the beautiful music for our inaugural Holiday Light Show - and of course the arrival of the man in red! From area school and college groups to church choirs to professional entertainers, daily live music and performances are just another festive touch that can only be found at Four Seasons Town Centre! Adding value to shopper purchases is another Four Seasons Town Centre tradition. This year, shoppers that present $200 in same-day Four Seasons Town Centre receipts will receive a FREE limited edition Sounds of the Season Music Box. This custom designed music box is an exact replica of the Centre Park decor and plays the timeless Holiday classic “O’ Christmas Tree.” The promotion starts Friday, November 15, 2002 and is valid while supplies last.

At Four Seasons Town Centre, we wrap gifts FREE - 365 days a year! During the Holiday Season, we take this service a step further and open a special Holiday Gift Wrap Centre! Shoppers need only bring their receipt, their gift, and a box from the store where they made their purchase and our specially trained team of more than 30 gift wrappers will take care of the rest! This year, that service will include a custom designed one-of-a-kind gift wrap that matches the “Sounds of the Season” décor theme. The Holiday Gift Wrap Centre will open on Friday, November 15th and will be located on Level Two next to the Mall Office! FREE Gift Wrap will be available as well as premium gift wrap for a small charge during all mall hours through December 24th.

Our Santa Photos Are Special Did you know that at Four Seasons Town Centre, our Santa is the “REAL” Santa! Christmas 2002 marks the 14th year this real-bearded character has been with us, not to mention that he is the ONLY Santa ever “on duty” at Four Seasons Town Centre. There are many children in the Triad who have never been to see any other Santa - EVER! But what makes our Santa extra special is that he remembers these children from year to year. The priceless look on the face of a child who Santa has remembered by name is something you won’t want to miss! Many area families plan special trips and have special traditions that center around a visit to St. Nick at Four Seasons Town Centre! Part of our tradition at Four Seasons Town Centre is the “Our Santa Photos Are Special” campaign. Twenty cents from the sale of every photo with Santa will be donated to local

organizations that provide mentors for children. To date, more than $20,000 has been raised for local charities like YMCA, YWCA, Communities In Schools, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters through our photo programs alone. This year, the program is sponsored by Smith Stokes Automotive and WHTZ Radio and we hope to raise more than $5,000!

Other Holiday Happenings…..

Santa’s Musical Arrival Santa’s Musical Arrival at Four Seasons Town Centre is November 15, 2002 at 7:00 pm in the Performing Arts Amphitheater. It’s the official start of the Holiday Season and a long-standing Four Seasons Town Centre tradition! It’s a great way to bring the Holiday spirit to your newscast or publication, as well as a wonderful Holiday photo opportunity! This year, in keeping with our “Sounds of the Season” theme, the Greensboro Symphony Brass Quintet and the Greensboro Symphony Youth Strings will entertain area families and welcome the man in red! This event will also premier our Indoor Snowstorms and Holiday Light Show to the public. Santa does not pose for photos at this event, so families can sit back and enjoy the show without having to worry about saving a place in a lengthy “first day” photo line.

Special Shoppers Day This year’s Special Shoppers Day will be held on Thursday, December 5th from 10am-1pm. It’s a fantastic story - area high school students and adult volunteers from American Express pair up with a “special” shopper to help them shop for their Holiday gifts. The event, which is hosted by the Greensboro Mayor’s Committee for Persons With Disabilities, is free for the shoppers and a heartwarming reminder of the true meaning of the Holiday Season. Highlights of the day include special entertainment, discounts and gift suggestions from participating Four Seasons Town Centre stores, refreshments, and a visit with Santa!

Sounds of the Holiday Season Four Seasons Town Centre offers entertainment in the Performing Arts Amphitheater beginning November 15th and DAILY Holiday performances starting November 29th! Part of our continuing efforts to support the Triad arts community, the “Sounds of the Holiday Season” performance series features amateur music, dance, and drama performers as well as professionals from organizations like the Greensboro Symphony, Greensboro Ballet, and Greensboro Oratorio Society. In addition, we regularly feature school, college, and church performing groups, from choirs to jazz combos to jump rope teams, and everything in between!

Four Seasons Town Centre is the only shopping facility to offer this type of venue year-round as well as the only center to offer daily performances throughout the Holiday Season. In fact, our competitors have either restricted Holiday Performances to small groups under 20 or have eliminated them entirely. To date, more than 5,000 students have had the opportunity to perform at Four Seasons Town Centre and the center has provided more than $15,000 in funding for area arts organizations. We have no plans to stop now!

There are 39 shopping

days in this year’s official

Holiday Shopping

Season, which runs from

November 15 through

December 24th!
