STUDENT STUDY GUIDES AND WORKBOOKS, are designed by the Air'I'r ainmg Command as student training publications for use in the trainingcourses of this command. Each publication is prepared for a subject or 1Jnitof Instruction as reflected in the course syllabus.

THE STUDENT STUDY GUIDE, contains the specific information re-quired in the Unit of Instruction or it will refer to other publications whichthe student is required to read. It contains the necessary information whichis not adaptable for student study in other available sources. The materialincluded or referred to is normally studied either outside the classroom ordur ing supervised study periods in the classroom. Also included are thoughtprovoking quest ions which permit self-evaluation by the student and whichwill stimulate classroom discussion.

THE STUDENT WORKBOOK, contains specialized job procedures, im-portant information about the job, questions to be answered, problems to besolved and/or work to be accomplished by the student during the classroom/laboratory, airplane/ equipment activity. It serves as a job sheet, operationssheet, mission card, checklist, or exercise to be performed during class-room or laboratory periods. Also included are questions which will aid thestudent in summarizing the main points of the subject or Unit of Instruction.

STUDENT STUDY GUIDES AND WORKBOOKS, are prepared primarilyfor use in the tr aining situations peculiar to the Air Training Command.However, they must not conflict with the information and/ or procedures con-tained in Technical Orders or other official directives.
