Greater choice and flexibility for agencies and riders.The ATLAS® Fare Collection Solution is founded non-proprietary open standards. If your agency has legacy equipment from different vendors, you can still work with those vendors and use ATLAS® . The system’s open architecture allows you to select media and equipment from multiple sources, so that you can operate your system in a way that’s right for your agency. With ATLAS®, you are empowered to build the type of system that fits your agency business model, and provide purchase and fare media options for flexible rider access.

ATLAS® can be a delivered, hosted, or a cloud-based solution. In a delivered solution, the agency provides the servers that are located and maintained on site by agency staff. Training is available and can be provided as needed. A hosted solution is stored at our datacenter and a point person on the agency’s team is minimally trained on the system. A cloud solution delivers ATLAS® through a browser to your agency. There’s no upfront investment in servers and costs are generally lower.

Riders have a variety of options on where to pay for fare (TVM, retail, online, mobile) and how to pay (cash, debit, or credit.) The decision to operate a closed-loop account based card for transit use only, or to use a credit card or electronic wallet for transit and retail use is up to the agency. Transit agencies are accepting contactless bank cards at points of entry in an effort to both reduce cost and make the systems more convenient for customers. Both card options allow for use of existing retail networks for distribution.
