Introduction and Background
During the last five year a number of sectoral atlases, individual maps and statistical databases have been produced by different organisations and government agencies in Cambodia, i.e.:• UNESCO- UNDP – CamInfo 3.0 • WFP- Food security atlas• WB – Poverty atlas of Cambodia• DANIDA – NREM – Regional maps• UNESCO- UNDP – CAMINFOThey all provide different data sources, of different organisations and ministries within a different regional, national or local scale.

The digital Atlas of Cambodia in kmz: Maps4Cambodia at Google Community
The digital Atlas of Cambodia in kmz-Data format (maps4cambodia) will be the first spatial data representation with free data and map access via internet.
It provides several available thematic maps and statistical data of different scale, giving a comprehensive overview of:
– Administrative data,
– Environmental data
– Nature Protection
– Social data
– Planning Data
Conclusion
But, which is the mostappropriate technical and cartographic solution to provide digital map data to the citizen of Cambodia ?
