In order to respond to the dispute you will need to print the journal from your ATM to determine if the transaction in question dispensed the proper amount of monies to the customer.

You will be asked to confirm if the transaction in question was a valid, unsuccessful or a partial purchase amount by answering the question “Were these items purchased at the ATM?”

YesBy answering yes you are confirming that the ATM journal shows the ATM dispense in question was

NOBy answering no, you are confirming that the ATM journal shows the ATM dispense in question was an unsuccessful transaction. You are required to hold on to your copy of the journal for one year, but you are not required to forward a copy to DirectCash at this time. You would only need to send the journal if the trace is escalated to a secondary review.

Yes, but this was a Partial Amount. Actual amount dispensed $_______ When answering this question you are confirming that the ATM journal indicates the transaction was a valid transaction, but for a different amount than what the cardholder was charged. You will need to fill in the actual amount dispensed. You will need to forward a copy of the journal to DirectCash. E-mail a copy of the journal to [email protected] or fax it toll free to 1-888-256-3395.

Once you have answered the question according to the ATM journal you would choose “submit Response”.

A summary of your response will appear on the screen. You will be asked again to “Confirm and Submit”. Once you have selected this option your trace is complete. You can not go back. If you need to go back before you confirm your response, select “View Summary” to go back to the previous screen.

After responding via the web to any “Requests for Journal Information”, Direct Cash will respond to the Cardholders Financial Institution with your answer. After receiving confirmation that the Cardholders account has been adjusted accordingly you will see an adjustment posted to your ATM account for the amount in question. If you responded to a trace confirming that there was a valid purchase, then there would be no adjustment to your ATM account necessary.

If you do not respond to a trace within your allotted time then the Cardholders Bank will assume the cardholder is correct and an adjustment will be posted to your account. You will be able to see completed journal requests by choosing the option “Closed”.
