Cameras are usually concealed somewhere on the front of the ATM. 3) ATM side fascia - Fraudsters conceal pinhole cameras on the side fascia of the ATM. These pinhole cameras can also be placed in brochure holders nearby, pointing toward the keypad. 4) ATM keypad - A removable keypad is placed over original keyboard to record your PIN as you type it in. Your PIN is used along with your card information to create additional cards. 5) Card reader entry slot - A “skimming” device over the card reader is often used to read the magnetic strip and capture your card number, full name and other personally identifiable information. 6) Cash dispenser - Cash trapping is done by placing a fake cash dispenser over the ATM. The cash is dispensed from the ATM and it is trapped inside the fake dispenser. Your account and the ATM show a successful withdrawal but you never received the money.
